Love your straight forwardness. I related to so many of the things you said. It is really strange how we accustom ourselves to a 'look.' How we don't easily recognize ourselves without it. On a side note, you were talking about hydration, I didn't know! Thanks. Here are some other supplements, specifically for hair, that a friend told me about. I love the response in the growth and health I have experienced with my hair, probably skin (but I haven't noticed): Glutathione, N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine and BioAstin (Astaxanthin)

I'm white, I have always felt that black women often have a natural beauty that gets hidden when they wear wigs or fake things. I would say I feel that way in general about women of all races. I've seen plenty of black women without any of these things and thought "gorgeous, wow" but I've never felt that way about the ones who have fake stuff all over.

My hair began to fall out and I had to cut it to two inches, yikes. Once again, after a year my hair is growing and looks healthy. But most importantly, I'm loving my hair and I'm loving myself. I feel as though God is speaking to me to embrace who I am. We're unique and have no reason to copy others. God bless you❤😅

@briaunaharris73033 ай бұрын
A few reasons is because some black women weren’t taught to take care of it properly, some don’t have time, some just want to switch it up, or some were bullied into straightening because they were bullied for their hair. Not all of us ruin our hair our straighten it because we hate it. We all have different reasons
@slicksweet13 ай бұрын
4C hair is a lot of work and time consuming. This is why I wear weave. To be honest, black hair just takes too long to do because it requires so much work or hassle. This is why we opt for braids. You can just get up and go. Same with wigs and weaves.
@tcampbell11064 ай бұрын
Weaves are difficult as it s not easy to look after your own hair. Wigs can be fun for occasional use for a different look or colour. Not for every day though. Best of all is sporting that beautiful crown you was born with.

Your hair is nice. I like it. I wish more black women would embrace their real hair instead of hiding behind weaves and wigs their whole life. Relaxer free for 8 years and most of the time I do not wear weave. I do wear it straightened out somewhat though the majority of the time. I beleive weaves/protective styles are good for if you want your hair to grow out or get healthier but should be working on getting hair healthier while wearing them and should not be a forever permanent fix. I am glad weaves and wigs exist though for if my hair falls out or if i am trying to get it to be healthier or grow out faster as protective style. Thankfully no health conditions but im glad they exist for if i ever do have a health condition. I will not use it as a regular permanent fix however. Natural hair can be tough but I refuse to go back to wearing weave although i do miss the convenience of how easy braids with added hair was. I don't really want to but dreads for me if this natural hair journey seems to fail somehow. At least it will be my real hair.
@siamanimoi61932 ай бұрын
Personally I don’t think there is anything wrong with wearing wigs. The thing that does make it a bit challenging is when women be taking care of the wigs more so then they do with their natural hair. And when they are so insecure that they can’t even walk out of the house without their natural hair! Love your natural hair while also embracing wigs weaves braids whatever ! I wear wigs and I also wear my real hair. I do all! I think it’s just discovering what works for you. For those of you that say your wigs and weaves smell! Hygiene is important. Wash your wigs your weave and braids and don’t leave it in for too long.

Remember where this body and beauty image has stemmed from. Beauty comes from within. There are so many people who society/media have named beautiful but these people cannot hold on to a relationship. So it’s not all about looks, it’s about you as a person. What is the point of being with someone because they fit in with society as being beautiful / handsome and they are boring as hell . So glad your hair is back to its healthy state. 🙏💖

Lastly I want to point out that hair is so much healthier and protected under a weave. I am a hair stylist and I can tell you that wearing my natural hair means using so many products and chemicals which damage hair. Therefore I don’t care what the bottle says, it’s marketing. In order to alter your natural hair in any way it has to have damaging chemicals in the product. The hair cuticle bonds need to be broken and the product needs to penetrate that strand of hair and it never goes back to a perfect strand of hair. So it’s a toss up. Either way we damage our natural hair. In India the women are far less vain and don’t put chemicals or weave or tight braids on their head. Therefore they are the smart ones they sell their well maintained bundles of hair. But natural hair is no more healthy. We are at high risk for cancer from these chemicals
