I don't actually think the psychiatrist had a choice but to step forward, esp. if he didn't know if there was another doctor on board. Not legally, but morally and professionally it is considered an obligation and I don't know about the US but in certain countries there can be consequences for not stepping forward in an emergency (if you're found out). Also, psychiatrists are MDs who go through exactly the same training to become a medical doctor before they specialise (unlike dentists!), so an out-of-practice doctor is still better than no doctor! Glad that the other doc could take the lead tho, seemed like he really didn't want to get his hands dirty on his vacation!

Funny how man don't feel bad about criticizing women bodies all the time, how body hair is gross, but get offended when their spouse asks them to trim their beard a bit so they don't look like a hobo. He should know this by himself and it's a 5-10 minute process, no need to be so sensitive about it.

I think proposed girl just have to date better. First guy, don't know, she was too young. Second relationship was a mess and he still proposed , just sounds chaotic, good that she ended it. The third one I think proposing after 1 year is pretty damn quick, especially if they haven't discussed important things like raising kids. We could say that's on her, but it's on both of them and the duded who has a kid should definitely know better. So I don't think she is wrong about breaking up any of those engagements, but she needs to know herself better and make better choices in men. Calling off an engagement is not that big of a deal, most people don't start to plan the wedding the next day, but I like your takes on this.

But why did she keep saying YES to the proposals? I agree on the last one that a year is quick to propose and it sounded like they hadn’t had any important convos yet. So why on earth did she say yes? It’s like she doesn’t know she can answer another way and say “I need time to think about it”. She just keeps agreeing and then realizing later what she got herself into
