Emi, any high top above of the drip edge is a problem. A good installation would not require sealant. The fact they try to seal it from the inside shows they don’t know what they are doing. Get a few tubes of Dicor, seal from the outside and inspect yearly. Problem solve, je te promais.

Get a good size fan and tape it into one of your windows. A good strong fan preferably. What you are going to do is put a positive air pressure inside your van and also run the inside heater in your dash blowing more pressure inside the van. Now with the two fans running have a bucket of soapy water with sponge and go around all the seams and you will see bubbles where any air is leaking out. It works every time. Don’t forget to soap down your fan vents on the roof. It works trust me. Easy to do as well. I sometimes do it right at the car wash station. I have even had good luck just running the dash heater on high but you will have to look closely as the bubbles will be smaller.

There is a product called dynamic it comes in white and grey used to use it to caulk in hurricane windows put on once just like caulking I guarantee it will never leak again you can order it on line

If I was in your situation I would investigate thoroughly the exterior and try to figure out where the leak is coming from. I was having issues with my car.. had to pull the seats and carpet out twice because passenger side was filling with water when it would rain. I finally found the source and it was leaking through a factory body panel weld.. used some silicone stuff to patch over it and haven’t had water intrusion since. You can find the leak there’s only so many places it could be coming from. Keep your head up, you got this! 😊

Marine ply is built for boats so water does not rot them. Probably costs a bit more but worth it. Reality bites some times 😢, but that is life ❤❤❤

Use a caulk like dicor lap sealant. and butyl tape around high top windows, make sure it’s butyl tape. it can be used other places too. Repair just like campers and Motorhomes, with an exterior type of caulk. It’s easy, just takes a while. Watch some Motorhome roof repair. Just check it every summer and remove and replace old caulk when needed. Treat it like it’s a motorhome 😊.
