Absolutely the best advice i've heard on KZbin for this music shit. Everything takes time, nothing happens over night. You have to live, sleep, & breath this craft CONSTANTLY. And you will never stop learning new things/ techniques in this industry. Every time you think you're at the mountain top, there is a whole other mountain to scale. Lastly, NEVER give up. We all have our ups and downs, but what matters is getting back up and trying again, and again, and again. Everything will pay off if you give it your all. Never give up kings/ queens

The beat block advice was the best piece of advice I ever got. Many times I’ll work on something, get tired, and say forget it. I like your idea. It’s like instead of leaving a drain clogged, you run the dirt out till it’s clear again.

Fr. I launch fl for 5 mins, get pissed because it sounds bad, close fl.
@cornela12 жыл бұрын
Hell yeah, I also kinda learned or discovered this last year. Especially when I was really in the zone the day before, I have a rough time starting a new project and feeling the same energy. I notice however that if I just exit the project, start over with a new sample/idea, theres a big chance I'll get in the zone again and feel like I'm making some good shit again. Sometimes it's on the 2nd try, sometimes on the 4th beat, but it does tend to happen more often than not! Just don't fret about it too much and don't worry about closing a project after just 20-30 minutes if you really don't feel it

What I find helpful is when I'm struggling to finish something I look for a new sound whether it's a sample or vst instrument and replace what you had before. Sometimes it's just because you aren't vibing with that sounds you have

As an Audio Engineering student at Full Sail, I’ve learned that if an artist gives you freedom to mix it your way and allows you to give it your own twist, it’s easy. Also, if the artist is constantly in contact with you during the mixing process makes it ALOT easier.

@@gav6514 eh. The connections are what’s worth the most to me, tbh. You can obtain the knowledge they teach you online, from a friend or from other engineers. It may take a little longer or shorter period of time, and may be more in depth, but the connections you make are what makes the Full Sail experience worth while.

THANK YOU!!! Getting INUNDATED with calls to "distrubute" my music/"lease or buy lyrics" etc Not against "investing in myself" or "the cost of doing business" (even if that's as little as being a "channel member/Patreon sub", buying their packs etc. I'm in my studio "70% of the time" - working on music or learning equipment/techniques or file management... it's the "feedback" I'm lacking. Friends/family/colleagues are "supportive/encouraging" but often, mere platitudes - Asked a few to suggest songs for me to sample/show them what I can do... not heard a word about them, been 4 months now... also getting less feedback from the "artists I remix" (mostly from Looperman but some here on KZbin) - guess "If you've nothing nice to say, say nothing" is true after all... Definitely "creator > artist" - played bass/drums in bands, always been more "key contributor" than "face of the franchise", music > music videos etc - so kind of a double edged sword as regards "socialising", and Lord knows I've "made my enemies" so it's likely many won't listen *because* "Darren Gordon-Hill made it" (flirting with the idea of sharing anonymously (especially as my remixes involve other artists, who may then be unfairly maligned (not given a chance) by association)
