All of this can be checked: Is there a gas station in Manhattan within walking distance of the party location? As this was a weekday, did she miss school and the father missed work? Does the dad's credit card statements show that he travelled to Manhattan (had to pay for gas, toll bridges, food for 10-12 hrs. road trip). Unsure whether there was GPS at the time; the dad needed an exact location and directions to get to the gas station.
