Dude I'm so stoked to see the big video you're working on!!! Don't lose hope on it, do what you can, maybe slim the video down to be shorter. I made a short film for university a year or two ago all by myself, and its worth it. Even if it's not perfect, get it done! The footage you got looks genuinely GREAT aesthetically. Also man, that dental hygiene part really hits home, I too tend to neglect my teeth when I'm in a depressive slump. Currently working a lot of freelance video editing from home, which has led to stress due to money, which has also led to me forgetting to brush my teeth twice a day and floss. I normally brush my teeth once, and floss some times because I realize I need to. It's not a good habit at all, but I'm picking up on it, so you're not alone on that. Sucks when you go to the dentist and you have to explain "yeah...I was really depressed" after they scold you. lmao

Aside from parks and preserves I like walking in cemeteries too. Findagrave can become addicting. Hope the foot's better!

Thank you for sharing! I understand completely. I appreciate your honesty, integrity and vulnerability. Your foot pain sounds very much like plantar fascitis. If it is, its imperative to wear good arch support shoes everytime you're on your feet. Dont go barefoot at all. Ice helps. A round of steroids will ease the pain and get you back on track. Good luck. You got this!

Mike, I'd just like to reciprocate your offer of someone to talk to, should you need it. You have my email address, I believe. Your videos have certainly helped me over the years, so I'm here if you need a chat, no pressure either way. Regards some of the stuff in the video: working around an injury without losing progress can be awkward - running is very impact heavy, so putting that on hold due to your foot issue seems like a good plan. In the meantime, there's often really good alternatives to the things you normally do. Something like swimming, trying out your new ebike, yoga, calisthenics, upper body focussed weights training etc may work well for you, and many of these are adaptable to your injury/issue. They can be good fun too! Regards getting quality footage: I feel you! My lad and I are film makers, and are essentially teaching ourselves. Nothing is ever good enough for the perfectionist mind, and the temptation is to not use anything that isn't exactly like how you pictured it in your head. This can get you down, and work against you. From what I've seen (the B&W footage posted in your video) you have some pretty strong footage for what would be classed as a zero budget project. I'd say you were very much on the right track! Some of that stuff looks as good as short films I've seen at film festivals. Personally, I've started storyboarding too, which I've found is very helpful for communicating shot requirements to unpaid helpers! The pics you draw don't have to be great, they just have to convey an angle, or sequence of angles. Finally, I'm also looking forward to some sun, winter is such a downer - I live in Yorkshire, and my god it can be bleak here, haha. Here's to summer, and some long sunny days!

You have a wife. You don't know how many guys are single, no girlfriend, no prospects, stuck in the proverbial 'basement' and realizing a week went by without a single thing accomplished. So, I get it that you are having 'struggles'...but they sound more like challenges than issues. Challenges are a good thing because that means you actually have something to address. Issues are like the weather...you have no control over them.

do low impact cardio (cycle.. NOT on an ebike, use a normal bike and use effort to get up those hills!!!) to lose more weight rather than run lots.. running distance is hugely impactful on our joints.. and when running do the sprint then walk method, it's far more efficient and useful type of excercise

What you're describing with your foot sounds like a Morton's neuroma. Glad you are getting it checked out.
