This is a huge slap to Fractal Audio, Quad Cortex and Kemper. I am glad that there is finally a Competitor that can stand up to the three Giants
@DavidAnthonyFloresСағат бұрын
@ELECTRICSCARS it's not for fractal. Their amp simulation alone is amazing. Now the only question is, what about their FX. Fractals FX are top tier. Some of the best out there and many people including Steve Vai is fractal for their fx. Also Keith Urban as well as many guitar players like the guitarist for Bruno Mars. I just don't believe their fx are as good or as detailed. Big doubt on that one there. However, it does provide value though. That's not to say this sucks. It's like, Line 6 fx vs fractal. The fractal stuff just sounds better. Line 6 still rocks though.

I have the GE250 for about 5 yrs, it’s a perfect size for mobility that includes an exp pedal. I power it with a battery bank of my choosing. It’s my back up modeler to my headrush core now but the GE 250 is still a very capable unit. Mooer is def all over the place in regards to self cannibalizing overlap between products and product lines. The GE 1000s touchscreen and battery wasn’t enough to make me upgrade from my GE250. Headrushes vocal capabilities were however. Great content, thank you.

Mooer has come a long way. I only have a couple of their pedals and I still haver both on my pedal board in my effects loop. Mooer Gold 012 Pre amp pedal on the blue channel, and that Radar cab pedal and I leave it on the number 27. Those two are always on and always in use. They just give you a kick as boost and tone. and then use my Tonex, then to head and cabinet. But watching this. I might be trying some new Mooer stuff now. I mean the pedals I have still work and its been at least 6 or 7 years I've had them in constant use. Thanks for posting this. My woman will now kill me for spending more money on myself. haha!

MNRS profiles are actually very good for high gain amps. I wanted Mooer 017 micro preamp on my pedalboard to use it via FX return of my amp. Prices were crazy so I decided to buy X2 preamp. It came broken but the seller got a replacement for me from Mooer. Works great with JP2C MNRS profiles from Choptones. Not to mention that a friend's friend fixed the broken one for free (just re-soldering the dsp adapter socket) so now I have two 😊. Mooer is a great value for the money. And to be honest I like it more than my Ampltube/Tonex re-amped profiles. Only a few NAM profiles sound better, most if not all for vintage, old cleanish/edge of breakup amp tones.

@MegaRomans013 сағат бұрын
hey Taylor, to respond to you ending question. I don't think its the number of options in mooers line that is the problem. it's the outlining of the products that causes the rub and maybe makes customers move on to something easier to digest. In remedy I would (if not already available) make a chart that compares directly all the varying features across models (with model release dates) in an easy-to-read format and display this on all products to foster congruency as people compare. I would also suggest future naming schemes that create a series with easily recognizable names to help define/differentiate between products and their target consumer needs. (ex. a mooer series called "curb stomp" being all 2 button units. these units in series would be "curb stomp" model "soul preacher" "block party" "ultra-sonic" etc. the larger capturing units could be in a series called "sound lake" with model names like "neural swan" or something similarly outrageous. Random letters and numbers we see everywhere it has no staying power in our minds and makes it hard to compare. The point is to have a funnel for people to follow. so, my suggestion is "select a series, use features chart, get name and information of desired products, than be assured in future support" the names being outrages helps the staying power imo. This is just my feelings on the issue I don't have a marketing education.

I think the biggest problem with Mooer is the lack of continued, long-term support for their devices, especially their flagships. They did like 3 or 4 updates for GE-300 and then called it a day. Compare it to how Line 6 treats it's flagships products, 10+ years and they're still putting out updates. I'll never buy a flagship Mooer product again if they continue this trend.

$520?!?! Umm I’m sorry but FUCK YEAH!!!! You have my full and undivided attention! That’s the most fair price for such a feature rich pedal I’ve seen in quite some time. Bravo Mooer. Bravo! I’ve been looking for basically exactly this for years now. I really don’t need all the effects but I’m not arguing with that. lol. I’ve just been waiting on this form factor (4 switch, no built in expression pedal, touch screen, midi capable profiler). I have a pretty awesome rig as it is but I wanna be able to go ampless if I need to. As it currently stands, I cannot do that. I’m stuck having to use my amp. I have a couple boost pedals but no actual preamp or distortion sounds. I get all that off my amp. I also don’t have cab ir capabilities. My rig is super bad ass… for 20 years ago. lol. So I just need one small piece of gear that I could still fit on my pedal board. I could replace my boost pedals and maybe compressor with it. And have presets for using my full rig with an amp and presets for going direct. Maybe even potentially have another preset where I would need to also add another rockboard patch bay to my board so I can go direct AND use my full rig at the same time. Idk. I day dream sometimes. Ribbon mic shootout yooooooo!!! Lol

Question for you Tyler. I'm in the market for some good gear and i came across your channel. I a fan of your content already. I currently have a shecter diamond series guitar and a old crate 50w combo amp atm. Looking to drop around $2k on some gear. I'm looking at a set of lichtlaerm audio pedals, a new guitar, or a nice tube amp. I also am interested in your Obsidian pedal as well. Been playing guitar for over 15 years and just never invested much money into new gear. I've been writing music on and off since 2010 but life and ny career have got in the way. I am a good point in life to where I can finally dive back in and the industry has so much gear now its hard for me to decide. I can drop $2k now and more money later. I am looking for a dope metal setup. If possible let me know what you think. Thanks and keep on rocking!
@LuLeBe2 сағат бұрын
Well you gotta figure out what you need. Is your guitar bad (bad fretwork, warped fretboard, uncomfortable shape, singlecoil when you want humbuckers?) because if not then the guitar doesn't matter at all, they all sound the same in the end when playing metal. If you want to go full analog (so pedals, amp, cabinet) just start out with a solid overdrive, an amp that you like (maybe something like the 5150 lunchbox amps?) and a good cabinet with the right speakers. Do your research on what tone you want (creambacks, V30s, greenbacks etc) and decide afterwards. If you don't want to research anything, get this for the modern metal tone: Any Humbucker guitar, any standard overdrive (SD1, TS9 etc), a 5150/6505 and a Mesa Boogie 4x12 oversized with V30 speakers. For recording mic it with an SM57. You'll have the tone of every big metal record form the past 10 years. But for anything more specific you need to figure out where that tone comes from. Which is really hard since you never see videos of 10 pedals with the same DI signal through the same signal chain, they'll always have a different mic or cab and so everything sounds different, but it's completely unclear where the difference comes from.
