I moved in retired to Bangkok seven years ago and I’ve changed quite a bit. I no longer chase girls waste money and bars or drink a lot. it was fun while it lasted, but it’s different when you live here. I’m in the gym five days a week manage my investments, and I’m generous with the people close to me. Great video. I’m sure many of us here feel the same way. 👍

Good work on the lifestyle changes. Perspective from a 28 year old, I’ve completely cut out the mongering. I’ve met some very attractive women on dating apps but they’ve been truly low quality people. After living here for a few years I’ve become very jaded with dating here and decided to focus on my career and businesses. Thai women are extremely promiscuous, finding one you can trust and who’s pleasant to be around is a near impossible task. Be warned first timers.

Congrats on your weight loss - I've been up and down a few times in my life and it gets harder every time as I get older. As for the Pattaya girl scene, I still enjoy it after visiting for many years but I've slowed down a lot - now I enjoy the company of a couple of regulars more than I would picking up a new girl every night like I used to enjoy so much; but I do love the environment where every two minutes another lovely girl walks by and most will smile if you say hello. As for getting yourself a "hi-so" girl, I do believe they would cause a lot more trouble and grief ultimately than your average bargirl...

**Great video Boss!** You are telling the truth here and sometimes the truth Hurts! I spent well over 7 months vacationing on several trips here in Pattaya since '03. I was 42 at that time and it was all about the booze & chicks! Now, I've lived here for 13+ months and am 64 years old and sober for over 7 years. I am right with you on the "relationship" scene here. I am no longer on the hunt for "her"! I like many thought I had found her, but that was just another Farang + Pattaya bar girl story! I'm laying a lot lower now...concentrating on building a business (which I'm sure I can count on You for your advice) and my health. The health part is still the hardest but it's in the forefront of my mind. I'm not worried about getting a woman here because as you know... that's as easy as finding a 7-11 for a snack! It determines how long you will stay here. And guys are returning back home to the unknown to seek out advanced health care when the real sh..hits the fan.. Keeping up on your health and having your blood checked regularly is a real key to stay long term here..Keep your medicare A and B when it comes up. I have a top tier health insurance plan here for my wife and I here but still don't have the utmost faith in it. Good luck with your future business

Hey let's get some perspective here..only about 15% of the ladies are stunners. I genuinely didn't live in Pattaya for 10 years just because I wanted to have a bit of nookie..lots of guys do genuinely love Thailand for plenty of other reasons. I just like the whole atmosphere, and the people, and I like feeding the stray animals, and going for very long walks at 7am. Then of course the food, cheap rooms, and the Sanctuary of Truth.

Good man, look after yourself, i am on hormone treatment for prostate cancer so although the ability is still there the desire is non existent, life for me is so much calmer, I will be in Pattaya forJanuary, stay nice room big balcony view Tallay 6, superb organic food from the supermarket in Central next door, always join Coco gym, loads of walking, spend some time in sun, there is plenty to do and it is possible to enjoy life in Pattaya without the girls and bar scene . PS do not get caught out like me, get to pulse clinic for PSA check know your score keep an eye on it, so easy to do in Pattaya, anyone who lives there has no excuse for getting caught out. Phil

Excellent video Philip. Well done on losing 12-14 kilo's. It's more than losing the weight though, it's the consequences of losing that weight, I bet you feel better mentally as well as physically? I am starting to go down the same path you outline. The turning point for me was seeing another KZbin video about a guy who lost much more weight than you and went onto a fasting/carnivore diet. I have a belly that crept up on me in my fifties and I am slowing presently changing my diet. I am trying to cut out the carbs and back on the sugar. I may have to try fasting if I don't start burning off the sub-cutaneous layer of fat. No more bread, more eggs, less sugar. It's not a diet, it's a positive change. Sorry, I now seem to be preaching to myself! Loved the video, wholeheartedly agree with what you are doing and why you are doing it and power to you! Be a shining example to all us flabbies who are going like an old sofa fraying at the seams! Old Phil's dead, long-live new Phil!!

Hello it took you 16 years to figure out where you are now? I agree whole heartly on what you say about the ladies in Thailand. Being in my early seventies my age restricts my activity when it comes to aerobics with these ladies. When I first got to Pattaya I was a dog in heat. Now not so much and I've only been here 2 years. Knowing it's available when I want it is good enough for me. Thaifriendly is my way to contact with the ladies and it's working for me quite nicely. I hardly drink and never go to bars or stay up to the wee hours in the morning. I don't chase girls in their twenties and prefer those that are 40 and up. I'm not a rich man and being a Sugar Daddy is not one of those things on my bucket list. The nines and tens I stay away from unless they contact me ( must be because it's the low season) otherwise, I stay in my own lane. Like you I looked into the mirror and told myself just be the best you can be and be kind to others.

My first year, I stayed single. Thai women are gorgeous but they are also nightmares. There are so many problems for westerners who don’t understand Thai culture and how it relates to Thai women. I had my issues with my current girlfriend at first. But if we ever split I don’t think I’ll be in any bit of a rush to find a woman. Having to please Thai women and their need for certain food is a mess. Drives me nuts. Thai women are expensive. We had that talk up front. I’m not here to keep the family afloat. Like you, 6 months ago I started my journey back to getting in shape. I started it on holiday in the US. Down about 13Kg. It’s a game changer. Came 2 months ago, back to my gf who eats non stop and it’s been a struggle keeping the weight down. Cheers.

Whether that be business interests or online trading is up to you. Get a little creative with the HiSo's and "Good girls". You have a natural confident demeanour which would back your story. Before i came to Thailand in February i lost 3 stone on a low carb diet. Ive been here 5 months and did the very thing i thought i would not. Put weight back on through return to bad habits. Like you say, its easy to do. Sometimes we need a reality check and this video has given me one. Im back on low carb. Today i start swimming again. I also feel happier in myself because i now realise the nagging feeling i could not identify was my culinary behaviour! Everything is about choice and change. Thanks

Thanks for the comment and well done on the weight loss. Low carb gives a quick, good looking results, but almost impossible to maintain in modern society. I think a good thing is to be aware of your hunger cravings, do you get stressed and want to eat sugar really quickly? Try t resist.

@LePubPattaya The sugar cravings become less the more high fat foods we eat. But ,because we live or lived in a carb dominated world the cravings are difficult to deal with. I think once you have reached your goal, disciplined moderation and IF is the best way to maintain weight loss. No point losing weight to spend the rest of your life craving things, so it's a bit of trial and error. That way you can put things right quickly.

Status is something I never hear expats talking about. I sometimes wonder if they are unaware of it, and how important it is to Thai people. They often seem to think we can find any girl we want simply because our finances are better (in most cases) than the average Thai. That's all well and good while you are looking for a girl in Pattaya, but once you decide to try the higher status non red light people in other parts of the country, as you say - 'it aint happening'

I am so far away from the work hard play hard mentality it’s untrue. How about if you don’t actually like getting drunk and enjoy being in bed at a sensible time and getting up early and just being productive? Even when I was a DJ in a massive nightclub and performing in front of thousands of people and had my own radio show, I was very much a stay at home person I didn’t like going out and partying. Nothing has changed in me in that respect. I’m glad if you feel that that is the way that you enjoy yourself and I want you to go out and have a great life, but it’s just not for me.

As far as the testosterone thing is concerned, I know lots of doctors, many doctors, who tell you that it is a very very rocky road to go down. You are cheating your body. I would think long and hard before doing anything chemical to try and adjust your bodies natural Cycle. I was approached twice by medical companies in Pattaya to be sponsored to make videos about this sort of treatment treatment, and I politely refused. Neither of them could believe that I had refused their free treatment.

In America supplementaty Testosterone for men over a certain age is more common than in Europe where I live. But its prescribed more frequently even here. The biggest benefit for most patients is the boost in energy, its not the sexual aspects. There are very few risks, a prior heart condition is not a contraindication. Of course treatment should be monitored by a specialist, bloodtests with PSA, Hb, Evf should be taken before you start and later every 6-12 month. Different strokes for different folks. Absolutely, but people should not make decisions based on incorrect information? In Europe I worked with impressive Thai doctors.. and I have been a patient at Bangkok hospital twice, the care was second to none. Cheers.

It amazes me how many guys that get over 40 and stop caring about their weight. The most common excuse i hear is that its harder to lose weight because their metabolism has slowed down. Thats an absolute myth and scientific studies gave proven its doesn't, what happens is older people move less. The simple move more eat less will take care of your weight.
