After that, every bamboo stalk they cut down gave them a golden nugget and they became rich. I forgot what happens after that but it ends with the Girl realizing she's a moon princess or something and returning to the moon.

Yes! As I recall, she was sent down in hiding for some reason by the star people and grew up in a couple of weeks into a beautiful young lady. Five rich dudes came courting her, and the old man who adopted her have them a bunch of impossible tasks so she wouldn't have to go with them. This got the attention of the emperor, and she and him fell in love, but the star people came to get here. They put a cloak of feathers or something on her that made her forget and took her home, her adopted family and the emperor had to move on, and I think that's the end. (Hope you don't mind me finishing the story for you.)

This is my favorite thing to do in games like this. I hate throwing things away, but I often don't have room for everything. But then you have a basement or attic. Something in real life that is just clogged with random stuff everywhere, so why not just stuff everything else you have in there?

Craft a bunch of furniture until you can buy the stuff you want from Nook's Cranny. My main room is mostly wooden furniture items with accessories i bought from the shop :) Also, use customization on items (if it allows you to) to make them match better! This works especially well with crafted items, but also on items like cushions, panels, signs, and sometimes the seat patterns of chairs

@@beep_beep_ Thanks for the tips! I've been trying to get as much furniture as possible, but sometimes I can't customize them, and then nothing matches haha. I just recently found out that you (almost) always get one piece of furniture from Nook Miles islands by shaking the trees, so I've definitely been employing that.

Ok, so if anyone's actually curious about the bamboo doll: There's a Japanese folk tale that's a bit similar to Thumbelina about an old bamboo cutter finding a tiny child in the base of a stalk of bamboo. When she grows up she either discovers or reveals (can't recall which) that she's actually the princess of the moon, Kaguya-Hime. On a similar note, there's another story that starts in a similar way, but with a male child who grows to be a hero named Momotaro, and that's what's going on with the Peach Surprise Box item. He was found in a massive peach that was floating down the river.

For those of you wondering why a baby came out of some bamboo (around 3:00) it’s a reference to a Japanese myth called the tale of Princess Kaguya, and it’s actually pretty interesting! I suggest you read about it. Anyway a summary is she was born out of bamboo, taken in by the bamboo cutter and his wife, raised to be beautiful smart rich and kind, (the bamboo cutter got rich from finding gold in every bamboo he cut) and caught the eye of many suitors. She didn’t want to be tied down, so she rejected them all, but they didn’t listen so she gave them impossible quests which they failed at. Then she catches the EMPERORS attention, and rejects him on the premise that she isn’t proper to marry him because she isn’t a citizen because she wasn’t born in Japan she was born on the moon. She and the emperor stay friends, and she ends up having to go back to the moon because reasons. The emperor doesn’t want that so he tries to get her to stay, moon citizens aren’t having that and prevent him from stopping her, and before she leaves she leaving an elixir of immortality and a note saying sorry. He rejects it and has it burned on the top of a nearby mountain because immortal life isn’t worth it if Kaguya isn’t in it. That mountain he burned the elixir on was Mount Fuji, Fuji meaning immortality. So there’s some history and mythology for yah :3

I don’t remember it exactly but there was a bamboo farmer and when he cut down a bamboo stalk there was a baby in it and so he thought “I’m gonna raise this baby with my wife!” And that baby grows up into a fine young woman before growing a connection with an heir to a Japanese village then eventually had to leave to the moon to become the moon goddess and so she left a potion of immortality to the heir dude

I don’t know if y’all know this but the bamboo child is actually based off of a Japanese folk tale of a baby that was found inside of bamboo. She was known for her rebound beauty and was really good at fricking with guys who loved her lmao
