The most easy way to get the cutscene is to cheese your way through the puzzle. Clear the way down to the mace room. Run to safety with your group (but leave astarion in the room then when everyone else is to safe have him pick up the mace then shift over to the group make the game go into real time and then wait 30 seconds for it to go BOOM

The thing is if you can die and get resurrected anytime by then what is stopping you from forcefully removing the parasite, and get resurrected by withers. Withers is powerful enough to resurrect a mindlflayer which in DnD is normally impossible!
