Can only agree with the video title, I've put quite a few hours into the formula mazda hopper myself! when you get a good bunch of folk all running stock/default settings and on different strategy & fuel loads it makes every lap so entertaining! we were racing Grand Oak reverse one time & we were almost 3-wide for 2 whole laps only exchanging on the straights or if someone took a lunge! it's brilliant!

the Formula Mazda hopper was an extremely fun one. with the right wheel FFB settings it felt natural, sorta like a really grippy and fast shifter kart. and a lot of the lobbies I was in with that car were very clean, and very competitive. i'll always love my Viper and TA Challenger in the Forza GT hoppers but the Formula Mazda was by far some of the best racing i've had on Forza.

I really like the C class hopper because of the cars around that bracket. Older BMWs, Miatas, lots of other Japanese cars, and sometimes a sprinkle of something else. I still struggle to find the best cars around that PI, but it's fun having so many choices. Not so fun are the shameless rammers that shouldn't be in S safety rating lobbies, but they're there nonetheless. Seems like both the skill AND safety ratings need some work to group up more similar players more reliably.

Been having great fun with this game. I was hoping very much to like it and it delivered. I had a blast with Spotlight series with Porsche GT3 RS. Slowly built it and tuned it myself, won last 3 out of 4 races. Always hated Nurburgring GP circuit for being too technical but after tuning the Porsche and winning it 2 times I quite like it now. Keep in mind that in Spec racing you can still tune the car and it can make MASSIVE difference.

I really liked the Civic series that they had for the introductory multiplayer ranked hopper. Thought this was extremely fun and found a LOT of people driving hard, making mistakes in a good way and learning off of that and following and adapting lines of other drivers. Found more people looking to push than seeing red and just pushing to find blood and achieve their win when they are frustrated they cant keep up.

At turn 1 you can take the turn through the pit exit, which allows you to carry *a lot* more speed through the corner. The game considers it part of the race track, so it’s a clean lap/ no penalty.

I have been to mid ohio several times and have wished for years for it to be in a motorsport game. I have to say though I really hope they add the layout with the chicane before the keyhole (180 degree turn at the end of the first straight) to multiplayer. This chicane is in iracing and you can nearly take it flat out just with a slight lift.

I love the Toring car hopper. Made some good friends. The multiplayer aspect of the game is greatly improved over FM7. I hope they add races that require a mandatory tire change. So far the strat has been no stop.

I’ve noticed and am surprised I don’t see it mentioned more, but there seems to be an issue with “hit boxes” in FM. Even in career you can see a detected collision when there’s still inches of space between the cars. Though you won’t feel the impact until you actually see the contact. Very weird.

I had a race in these on grand oak reverse where I stuck with the hards all race compared to others on the mediums. I went from 21st all the way to 2nd. It was very satisfying and probably my best forza race ever.

I am also a Levorg enjoyer. It's a tough situation, but I think it's the most agile car, being the only RWD and it's also by far the best on tyres - the touring hopper on 'Short' races it excels on Mediums in the final laps when the rest of the cars have burnt up the fronts.

I really hate myself for not playing them But I got Forza through the EA Game Pass.. Im on PC now... And I wish I could Play Grand turismo but i do not have a PS5... You should take a look into the way that IRL Formula drivers take those longer turns. It looks like you're usually trying to follow the so-called "ideal curve" through the longer turns, especially through the second and last turns of this track, but that's apparently not optimal for Formula racing. Formula drivers will usually brake a little later than you would think on the turn and then turn into the rest of the curve more aggressively to try to follow mostly straight lines of acceleration throughout the middle and exit of the curve. Following the "ideal curve" gives a better "constant" speed throughout those big curves, but the way Formula drivers do it gives them a higher average speed. There is a pretty good Driver61 video on the topic that came out a few weeks back that goes into better detail about it if you're curious.

Love the game even tho there are bugs. They should however focus on endurance races with more then 6-8 laps, so that pit strategy and tire choice comes in to play. Forza GT is my favorite so far

Yh i agree, i think they will in time. It's an obvious thing to add to the game, they prob just getting a feel for what would be the most popular class/type of car for these endurance races. They will also want the game to be in as stable of a condition after a couple of updates, it will be very annoying if the game crashes when you're in an endurance race.

About the netcode "excuse": Earlier in the video the contact that wasn't a contact on your screen proves that it isn't as much of an excuse. Also I've not played a single Forza game with good netcode. The netcode of Horizon 4 and 5 sucks, I used to race a lot with friends and we would regularly get angry at each other for running wide into corners and crashing into the other person, when in actuality it was just the netcode.

Unfortunately I had the opposite experience, did a race at silverstone and everyone basically just went flat out into turn one like these were formula 1 cars. More than half the field went off track and torpedoed right back on it taking me out multiple times and somehow I’m the one that ended up with over a 10 second penalty for quote “avoidable collision”. Not sure how you’re supposed to avoid people going full speed and t boning you but apparently this game’s penalty system seems to think it’s possible….

I know you said you like forza on the controller but I think it would be fun to see you do some online matches with the wheel on this game. once you get some settings changed the wheel doesn't feel to bad and the safety and driver rating might actually make the races pretty good. I kinda stopped watching his Forza videos because I can't get past him using a controller. Nothing wrong with using a controller I did nearly my whole life but the past few years I've been using my fanatec wheel I can't go back or even car to watch controller racing. I really do not understand why he will race GT on a wheel but won't on this new Forza? Having played GT7 since release and all the other big name sim racers on pc Forza is higher up there with their ffb. GT7 had lousy ffb for quite a while actually. Bad enough I stopped playing for a long while until the update a few months ago finally made it decent. The cars in GT7 still feel kinda lifeless. I think it's the tire model. It feels like they are plastic? Idk how to explain. While I will always absolutely love iracings ffb and I think it has the best ffb for any sim game available, Forza Motorpsort ffb really isn't that far off. Just running practice laps on mid Ohio in the 2018 gt2 rs and a 2016 Viper acr and the handling is so blatantly different between the two cars it's incredible. Never felt that huge of a driving difference in GT7 switching between rear engine, front engine or mid engine vehicles. I feel like SuperGT is really missing out only playing Forza on controller. I know regardless what he says he is a Sony boy and GT contributor at heart so part of me feels like he won't switch to wheel because he wants to keep the image of Forza not being as "sim" as GT. Even though Forza ffb blows GT7 out of the water. I have the exact same wheel setup as SuperGT so I know he can find a freat tune on the fanatec labs like I did. Nothing is stopping him. Bit disappointing honestly.

Super good races! I really hope they bring back the Formula Mazda spec series, most fun I’ve had on this game so far! Question- did you use a tune for your Mazda or keep it stock? I didn’t touch mine at all, when I did I just made it way harder to drive at the benefit of zero time gain… 😅

What advice would people have for someone like me who is stuck on the A-S-A-S rollercoaster for the Driver's Rating? I keep getting decent races and go up to S but then I get a string of pinball races and I'm back down into A lobbies. I'm doing my best to stay clean and pay attention to the track and what's happening around me during the race but I can't seem to keep the S rating.

Ive had a couple times my S has gone down to an A but all you can do is race as clean as possible. If you do that, within a couple races you'll be back up to S. There's no advice other than try not to cause any accidents yourself or cut corners, if you get penalties that weren't your fault there's nothing you can do about that other than carry on racing clean.

Found the mazda speed series was overall 50/50. Half incredible and some of he best racing in Forza (and even more fun than a lot of other sims) but also some parts terrible. Penalties need to be improved and matching of drivers with lobbies.
