You are absolutely right about the video... I love this videos apocalyptic nature, as you say it really adds to the message of the song "The show must go on" xD also you are totally right about them being extremely talented. They are just amazing.

The video is fascinating. When Freddie recorded this song, he was dying, and he knew it. These artists captured that feeling in such a spot on way it was scary.

truly a haunting, painfully beautiful tribute.

The cello is one of the instruments that has a register closely matching that if the human voice , it literally resonates inside us .
@livedandletdie8 ай бұрын
It's the timbre that is similar. Not the register.

Dang, that really got me. I love Queen and know this song by heart, had the lyrics going through my head, and couldn't stop thinking "this was Freddie's world when he sang this". That timer in the background... he is still so missed.

Rosalie, I love your interpretation and feelings. The moon crashing into the earth would be the end of everything for humanity. What a fantastic video! Thank you for sharing this.I never would have seen this otherwise.
@OriginalLictre8 ай бұрын
For that video, it wasn't the Moon hitting the earth, it was a much larger body, perhaps on the scale of a small gas giant. At one point the news video has a sign come up that just states "The Moon is gone"

This version of the song makes me think of the band playing as the Titanic was going down. The humanity of accepting the inevitable while still holding onto the beauty of life with both hands. Edit: Their version of The Trooper Overture is one of their best imo. But most everything they've done is outstanding.
@chrisr640211 ай бұрын
These guys are insanely talented and have done a bunch of amazing covers. The video for their version of Michael Jackson's "They Don't Care About Us" hits a serious tone like this one, but many are just straight up fun.
@markbronson79424 ай бұрын
Wow! Yes, that is the best way to put that. What a production. I love 2Cellos, but what they did with this story took that song way beyond what Freddy and Queen even had in mind for it. Like Freddy, never wanting to stop entertaining, these guys in this video did not care that the whole building was literally crumbling all around them.....the show kept going on. Wow indeed. Thank you, Rosalie, for a great reaction and your insights.

I do so love 2Cellos. I can highly recommend their cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal", which pushed them into the spotlight after it was featured in an episode of Glee...

Thanks for a great reaction. Watching you share your emotions so generously as the video unfolded made it even more horrifying than when I watched the original. These guys are truly magicians with their instruments. Every new track is an adventure. If we have an end of world countdown like this, I'm going to pull up a deck chair and watch the show. Anything as bad as this, there's absolutely no point in running or hiding. A lesser catastrophe, well that's a different story.

I absolutely Love their cover of Freddy's tragic classic. Cello is easily my fav instrument... it can bring rich beauty or, as in this case, extreme tension. Enjoyed 2Cello's collab work and play off each other (Thunderstruck was my first time hearing them together). But this tribute to Freddy's masterpiece really got to me for all the right feels. Hadn't seen this before so I'm so glad you reacted. Peace and Love as Always and hoping 2024 is kind and giving to you and yours. ☮☮ & 💜💜

This made me think of two things, beyond their incredible talent. This rendition reminded me of Nightwish's "The Greatest Show On Earth". And it reminded me of the legend of Nero fiddling while Rome burned.

10:25 That can't be a coincidence, can it? The word apocalyptic makes me think of the finnish metal band Apocalyptica, and what are they known for? They play cellos.

Schreib' mal! Ist evtl. eine Reaktion wert. Würde hierzu ja auch passen. Guten Rutsch!

The song is *The Show Must Go On.* Will it be *Leo Sayer / The Three Dog Night* version from 1974?? Or *Queens* version from 1991?? Or even Pink Floyds's 1979 version from *The Wall.* Verdict: It was Queens version from their 1991 album *Innuendo.*

If you love these guys you will love Apocalyptica. 4 cellos and more metal..but these guys rock.they did highway to hell with Steve Via I dont think covering queen for these guys is to difficult.They apparently have had classical training.These guys are top notch.This is what music should be.

Agreed. Their cover of Nothing Else Matters is one of my favorites.
@livedandletdie8 ай бұрын
The song speaks to ones heart, and the song itself speaks to how talented Freddie Mercury was as a singer and composer, Queen itself as a band was mediocre at best, but Freddie and his vocals, his composing, his sheer musical talent, his voice, there will never be another man like him, no one on God's Green Earth, is as talented, or will be as talented a singer as Freddie was, there of course are those with wider vocal range, there's however no one out there that can mimic the legend himself, with vocal control as his vocal control was out of this world. Dimash Kudaibergen can throw himself of a cliff and we'd not lose a fraction of a percent of the talent lost when Freddie died. His death was the saddest thing to ever happen to the world of music.

The problem with art is understanding exactly what the artist wants to tell us. The more artist is the artist, the more universal his “message” becomes. Victor Hugo, a great artist, said: "The artist must promote the advent of a better world." Personally, I didn't see a shadow of a better world in this video. I try to push the artist even further: “The artist must promote the advent of an ideal world”. To define this ideal world, we must sit down and discuss it intelligently and, above all, with love. I would love to discuss it with you, my dear Rosalie. You are a communications artist; what you say is remarkably clear. I would really like to know your opinion on a common sense philosophical theory that I am working on at the moment. If you're interested... I wish you a happy new year in my company... near or far.

The setting we seen before. The band on the Titanic played on with the ship going donn. Here it's just a collision with the moon. No need to over dramatize the situation.

They are fantastic how they can make a show out of just two (2) cellos. I'm always amazed by their performances. I would also love to see You react to Tommy Johansson's rendition of the same song (his cover of the song): kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpbRdpuEbJmfe5Y Another great band with 4 cellos and a drummer is the Finnish Apocalyptica.
