Don’t beat yourself up girl, we are all guilty of underselling at least once or twice a season, it’s hard not to just take what you can get and let them go on the basis that you got them in draw them to the sale and have plenty more to eat what they are going to eat when you bring them home so we all just let them off because you have to get at least a tenner a head more for them on the second outing to cover the cost of not selling them. From an old but not particularly wise sheep man in Ireland.

We all understand the trade there's not another business in the world that one doesn't know what returns we receive. We are price takers not price makers. We take all the ricks .farmers are putting out theirs rams these coming weeks and does not know what margins they will receive we take all the risks. It not hard to ask for the cost of production plus a margin thats the way businesses operate .

I think when you are selling prime lambs or store lambs the first margin is always the best, a lot of the time the trade can suddenly drop without any warning. A 38kg lamb can be worth more than a 42kg lamb a few weeks later! Farming's professional gambling! There is no real right or wrong! You just have ago! 🤞🐏🐑🐑🤞

It's not funny having Jim whacking you and then the sheep. He's not helping sell sheep in the ring by using that stick. It just looks like he's out of control and being indulged by his parents. He is going beyond just 'being a boy' and it's not a good look for your channel.

@@jimmyjohnstone5878 he's only 3 you will see he learns as time goes on he takes some telling 🤣🤣
@jimmyjohnstone58783 ай бұрын
@@Sam-shuttfarming that's fine for you in private but showing him out of control with that stick, especially against sheep, and constantly swearing, is not good for the channel. People don't want to see animals being hit no matter what age the child is. Swearing is an issue if children are watching. It's not easy to train kids, but adults in the home laughing at children doing these things just looks on your video that you don't bother trying to stop it. You just laughed when Jim brandished the stick at you for instance. He needs the stick removed for a day any time he does that. Take it away for a full 24 hours. That will teach him that it's behaviour which will not be tolerated. What happens when he does the same thing in nursery ? He will be banned. Train him at home as to what is ok with his stick, and what is beyond a joke.
