What is it like to grieve for a child who dies right after they are born? On this episode of Strangers Meet, millennials and Gen Zs speak to a mother who lost three children through miscarriage to find out how she overcame her loss, and to learn what it means to be a mother.
Felicia founded Angel Hearts, which provide bereaved parents who have suffered similar losses with Angel Gowns and other apparels for the babies. Find out more here: www.angelhearts.sg

Aww... the ending! "If anyone knows how great of a mother you are, it's your kid. And if he thinks that you are a ten out of ten, I think that's right." That was so wonderfully said! I hope that this strong lady continues to be the best, 10/10 mom to her son

I have 3 beautiful children, thank God. I have had 5 miscarriages and I never thought I would get my babies to stick so I could raise them. I now have beautiful grandchildren and my life is blessed because of my children ❤

I suffered two miscarriages the last one being February this year. I too felt super difficult when I see pregnant women especially friends who were reeling over their pregnancies. I would always ask "God, where's mine?" The miscarriages just robbed away the naivete, the happiness of being pregnant. And it's place, I felt (and still feeling now) the fear of it happening again...thank you for this video though, it made me feel less alone in this journey...

This is just so sad! The traditional version of "a child" is one who has survived the full period of pregnancy and arriving to the world smoothly. However, it does not make the pain of those who have lost children through "unvoluntary means" any lesser, because it is ultimately a life (don't talk about abortion bible preachers). Having a proper acknowledgement to that grief is actually the very key first step to recovery! And yeah to those particular parents, stay strong!

Teared halfway through... Thank you to ogs for making such an insightful video! She's so strong throughout this. I cannot imagine the pain and grief losing a child, getting your hopes up again, and then going through yet another miscarriage. The part about her sister too... it must have been so difficult for her and the whole family. I'm glad that her kid is safe and healthy now! Motherhood is really scary and there are so many uncertainties but yet it seems so rewarding.

At the end of the day, it's just relief from vexation of wanting a child that the parents experienced as happiness. If there is no wanting to have a child, there won't be any chance of miscarriage, no grief, no sorrow, no disappointment and no suffering for the child dying in the womb. Parents delight at bringing a child into this world full of vagaries even if it means the child has to suffer. The parents should not be saying , "I love you child." They ought to be saying this instead, "I love you child, because I love myself."

Thank you for covering this topic, which is usually a taboo thing for some others to talk about. Personally, I've gone through a similar thing. I lost my baby when he is 19+3 weeks, due to uncertain virus. He didn't had a heartbeat since 17 weeks (which I did not felt anything at all). The most funny question being asked was: Did you carry the baby? Did you see how the baby looks like? Does he looks like daddy / mummy? My reply back then was rude & upsetting, as I've lost the baby then. I just replied, it's my business whether do I want to see the baby for the last time. Kudos, to the team who took care of me. Knowing how traumatising this is to be from a Mom perspective. My dear boy, will be forever in our hearts. I don't have a niche for him, neither did I saw his face at all. Cause we really couldn't bear it.

The female interviewer should stop smiling when asking sensitive questions. Male interviewer smiled as well when asking a question about suicidal. 😒

yes, agree. i was very horrified by male interviewers expressions when asking the questions, it comes off as kind of insensitive. credit and kudos given to the producers and all involved in this video, its not easy to get everything right and you guys almost did, but do be careful with the facial expressions..

Y’all should also understand the psychology behind smiling in tense situations like this. Y’all are ignorant.

If you don't get what you want, there will be grief and sorrow. If you get what you want, there will be fear of losing what you love. So long there is wanting, suffering will ensue. Bar none.
