From what i've seen, you get this ending with stella leaving you on good terms because you decided to treat her well throughout the entirety of season 2. for example, choosing options like "we'd love to have you on the team, stella" and asking her nicely for stuff--it all adds up, basically. i'm guessing you didn't get that ending before bc you might have treated stella... badly? idk how else to phrase it but that's probably why. (anyways, feel free to ignore this if you already knew that haha)
