I actually enjoyed seeing a review of a not very good ebike. It sometimes is hard to determine what makes a bike good or not so good. Looking at the welds, alignment, and physical size of frames and motors will now be in the list of things I will be interested in when shopping.

Thanks for watching. I guess after reviewing a lot of bikes, certain things stick out that I have to address.

Consistently your reviews are detailed and objective Scott. This particular review Dennis how good you are at this.

I have the same bike and honestly, its probably the best ebike for the money I own. I ended up swapping out the suspension fork for a carbon fork with suspension stem and seatpost and its THE perfect commuter. The only downside is the range sucks, but i have an additional battery to add in parallel. I mean for less than $700, this is a heck of a deal.

What kind of normal mileage are you getting out of this bike?
@sophanphin419921 сағат бұрын
@scotthardesty Before the dual battery, i got slightly less than what you got in the vid. To be fair, I ride this mostly as a commuter around town (to stores, the train station, etc.) so a lot of stop and go. I had a spare 15ah battery pulled from my dead scooter and now get around 35ish miles doing throttle only. I dont disagree with you that this bike is far from perfect out-of-the-box, but with some minor mods its very solid. Carbon parts made my bike really light - enough to carry up stairs without issue. I had a lot of spare parts sitting around so threw them. Might make a video walkaround of my bike.

@@scotthardesty mostly what you pointed out. the one i rode seemed to be worse though. In my opinion this company is a fraud with false advertising. no way that motor is 90 nm, 1100 watts

Excellent review as always, Scott. And I gotta say...that's an awful lot of bike for the money! May not be the best power wise, but manufacturers really are doing their utmost to make decent quality e-bikes affordable for all. I paid just £649 for my 500w foldable bike, and I'm super impressed with the quality for the money. But I'm easily pleased, lol. Love from Scotland 👍

I get it. Just after reviewing almost every AIPAS bike, I can't deny that they all perform better than this one.
@heeeeeresrossyКүн бұрын
@@scotthardesty I hear ya. That probably reflects it's price. I was just amazed that a bike in that price range had such things as indicators & a proper horn. I managed to pick up a little beauty for half the price it should have been, so I'm happy.

Howdy Scott, Well, you call it the way you see it and that's what makes you a great reviewer. It's a shame it doesn't quite live up to the quality of the other Aipas models. The good news is that Aipas can use your input from this review to make improvements to this model. Yea, the welds don't look too substantial on this one. You're so right about this one being for a smaller, lighter rider. I like the UL Listed ratings and the adjustable handlebar. The mechanical brakes don't even bother me too bad. I see this bike as a city commuter and paved bike trail bike for a smaller type of person needing a short to medium range commuter bike. I definitely do not like that this bike looks so unbalanced from the back. Something's off either with the build or design of this one. I do like the lights and signals on this bike. I think for the price, they should include at least a 14 or 15ah battery. I think they really need to go back to the drawing board on this one. Thanks for your thorough review and honesty with this one. It helps the company and it helps the riding community. Just make sure you keep your backpack with you! 😅 You were fortunate it was where you left it. Snowing here in Ohio tonight, I imagine Chicago and Michigan got some too. Stay warm and enjoy your ride and travels. 🚲-------Steve.

I am glad you liked the review and found it helpful! I got lucky because I filmed this review yesterday and today was nothing but rain, sleet and snow. Perfect editing weather.

90 nm rating and the price got my attention, but your loss of 4 mph in the wind, from 28 down to 24 mph in spite of 1100w peak motor and 90 nm torque, tells me this bike isn't for me. My Aventon will exceed 28 mph fairly easily in those conditions, and my battery range is much much farther. (of course to be more fair I didn't spend only $700-750 for the Aventon either) Aipas should step up to metal fenders and pedals too, if they want me to consider the C1.

I get that. Thats why I try to run these bikes thru as many different scenarios that I can think of to truly test the performance.

Excellent value for money for what it offers right now. If you commute less than 50 km while pedaling this ebike will take you there. Just the price, in one year you can recoup your investment when compared with using public transport.

@scotthardestyКүн бұрын
@@pranayagurung3043 yes. My garage is not insulated (detached garage) and I will keep 2 bikes out there all winter. I bring the batteries in to keep them warm and charged. The rest of the bike is totally fine in low temps. I've done this for 2 years now and all my bikes worked no problem. I do not see where this bike would be any different. I can handle it.

I told AIPAS that I felt the welds were not substantial enough for 400lbs. They replied stating that they conduct inspections and felt the welding quality was acceptable. I may have just gotten a bad bike to review but I would need to see much better welds to trust it.
