I found this PC at a garage sale for €20. It definitely needed a lot of work. it was, without a doubt, one of the dirtiest computers I've ever cleaned. I've also made some improvements in this video, so I hope you all enjoy!

What's wrong with it? It looks like one of mine. Having 3 dogs and 5 cats causes a lot of dust and hair that gets sucked into the computer. Cleaning is a normal thing when you have pets.

@@french.satisfactory I covered all openings with silk screening fabric and installed my new 850 W power supply and it's working like a charm, no overheating no excessive fan speeds. Silk screening fabric will be my #1 modification with every new computer I build.

Yes that's true! I've quit for other reasons but i must admit that smokers PC are way more dirty than non smokers ones. Dirtiest PC i ever seen belonged to the father of a friend of mine that was living in a basement and was a very heavy smoker...i Will never forget the shit inside that poor computer...almost puked😅

Probably the worst mistake of my channel ... yet 😅 I'm joking, it is just that I only realised it after I did upload the video, thanks to a comment. Now, I have comments every day because of this. Nice job! Is there a reason you flipped the CPU fan from blowing cool air across the heat sink fins to blowing away from the CPU heat sink fins? Did an awesome job, but that little change messed me up. Maybe it was just me though, Shrug..... God Bless and have a good one.

great video, but 1 mistake i saw, was the fan for the cpu was fitted wrong way round. at start of video u see the Cooler Master sticker, but in re-fit clip its showing the back sticker

that cooler master 80mm fan is awesome its got lots of power iv had it up to 4300 rpm the pentium d one of the coolest windows xp CPUs its just two pentium dies that connect over the Northbridge it won't game well but it is unironically good at editing due to the long pipeline

This is not a Pentium D, but a Pentium Dual-Core. The difference is that the PD is indeed made of two Pentium 4 cores (Intel's first dual core offering, and not a good one at that) while the PDC is a cut-back Core 2 Duo (So much more efficient and modern than the PD, but very much a budget CPU).

Most dirty PC I came across fixing for a friend was like "city" under sand. On motherboard, gpu, etc. was so much dust, you could not see board components at all 🤔.

@@french.satisfactory it's cool video, interesting 😁👍. Came across your chanell then when KZbin suggested it 🙂. I just remembered that PC was working barely but still iz was and after cleanup... nothing. It turned on without bios beep and black screen. Did replace GPU and ram... nothing. Reseatec CPU and no change. It probably seems that the dust somewhere was giving just enough contact to let motherboard work even if it is not great. Worst part was the feeling when working PC came, non-working it left.

Salut à toi OZZYO! Et bien, cela dépend. Quand je récupère des PC de personnes qui les utilisent, je les rend simplement aux personnes qui me les ont confié. Dans le cas où je trouve les PC dans un vide grenier, et bien je les stock effectivement. Mais je vais voir si je peux les donner en giveaway. Merci à toi pour ton commentaire! Well on the HP PC i noticed that it has a bay for a "HP Pocket Media Drive" which is a "proprietary" USB Drive that HP made for some of their PC's, anyway nice video i liked it, and the final result was fantastic !

That computer was nasty dirty. Great job. Only thing I noticed was you put the CPU cooler fan on backwards. When you took it apart it said cooler master. When you put it back together you put it on upside down and it shows an arrow. So it's pushing air away from the cooler instead of sucking air in. So it might overheat. But other than that that was fantastic work. It looked brand new when it's finished.

I think I might take those components outside to clean. EONS AGO I had a BUNKER RAMO BCS 90 that the customer had on the floor under a folding table. It was bad but not quite as rough as what you showed. Had to nail it out on two wheel cart to the parking lot . Disassembled it as much as I could took a commercial vacuum/blower to it and went to work. When it was all back together and reinstalled it actually came up and ran.

Yeah, I already answer couple times about this, I will maybe do a community post about it. Let me just copy/paste what I already said to someone else: There is many debates about this in the comment section. I agree about that it is far from perfect like that... In fact, I was so focused on the video making things, I just did put it back in the way it was before I took this PC appart. 😅 I think I will change that before giving it back to its owner. I have an industrial vacuum cleaner, and it takes me a few minutes with a brush attachment to clean my rigs. That compressed air in a tin is usuless.

@@french.satisfactory Even a home user vacuum is better than tins. Most home vacuums have HEPA filters. That way, the dust is not blown around your room. I use clothes pegs to make sure the fans do not rotate out of control.

HP Pro 3130 Small Form Factor its actually still useable in 2024 as im still using mine which ive had since new in 2010 lol i upgraded the CPU to an i5 650 , put a 128gb Kingston SSD inside and 16gb ddr3 ram , sadly the gpu is limited to a 1gb gpu so you wont be gaming on it but it does everything can play 1440p videos no problem too , I will upgrade soon though as it cant support new windows versions.

Hi Georgi! I don't think spray air directly at the CPU pins is particularly dangerous. I never had any issues with this and never had any comment regarding this. Great cleanup! I love watching a PC get the cleaning and love it needs! I might have to start making some of these videos, i love to clean PC's. A few things from one PC Enthusiast to another, to much TIM on those chips, will it hurt anything? No. I just hate to waste TIM since it's not cheap. Also you put the CPU fan on backwards, it's supposed to suck in cool air from outside the case thanks to that duct attached to the fan. Will it be fine and work? Yes. Did my OCD freak out? Yes. Will i be fine? Maybe. lol Thanks for the Real Cleaning Video and I think you need more Subs ASAP.

Take it apart and dump all of it except the HDD and optical drive in a large container of bleach water... after blowing it off with air. And yes a motherboard can be washed with CMOS battery removed, caps all drained down. I've done it several times after getting them from a smokers environment. You just gotta be 100 percent certain it's completely dry, especially under those smd devices. Bleach water will literally melt away nicotine stains like it was never there.
