Despite all her indoor top times, including two world records I think she will further improve during coming outdoor season. She is still in her built up towards the Olympics in August. That is the time and place to step out of my comfort zone, she said recently. Paris is also the meant to be place to complete her transition from 15 to 14 steps between the first seven hurdles: a major learning trajectory that started one and a half year ago. She hopes to compete with Sidney in Paris, because “racing against the best competitors will make me better as well. No use to even run if I would think I couldn’t defeat her. But on the other hand I am happy to become second if I have given my utmost. And I always will do the hurdles, even if that means I will stay second my whole career.” Now that is a real champ in my book, regardless her results.

It's 2:19.51 ... but it's an indoor time from 2017 (where she was 16 years old), so maybe not in line with what she could do today 🙂

They're both Dutch and both winning a lot, but that's about all the similarities between them. Formula 1 and Track are about as far apart as 2 types of sport can get...

This is going to be an awesome showdown between Sydney and Femke. I see sub 49 around the corner.

How hard is it to put in the correct numbers when making those lists? it is so well made with great points being talked about, but when 2 lists in a 8 minute video contains the numbers 42 and 48 instead of 49 just disturbs the video :/ Love the content and always watching, but those lists and record times are being pointed out so often, but not even written correctly and it hurts the quality of the finished product.

i think TRP probably rushes to upload, but i agree that the typos can be a bit distracting
@thomasthomsen26789 ай бұрын
@@joddle23 i get that they might be rushing, cause there is always new content and I know that takes time. But when they have to make the list and move the numbers for the other times regardless, why not spend that second to check that the one number they have to calculate themselves to make their point, is actually correct

Why is there such a difference between indoor and outdoor runs? Couldn't outdoor be a hindrance as well?
@hermanmertens83839 ай бұрын
It’s because of the 200m shorter track than outdoors, leading to two more and sharper curves, that bring centrifugal forces into stake. They slow down the athletes, spending energy in keeping balance. Velocity loss about 2 to 4 percent compared to outdoors in good weather conditions. Sydney’s pb of 48.74 was clocked in excellent weather conditions on her (fast) Eugene home track.

Quite frankly nobody has any idea fit Willie Femke or Sydney as the later hasn’t run any international competitions since Bol has been dominating. It’s no use to give our opinions, we will just have to wait and see.
@nothingness559 ай бұрын
She beats Sydney with ease. only bc you need to stay sharp through racing. when you don't race the blade dulls. but Sydney isn't just going to roll over and let her win. The willingness to win means nothing without the willingness to prepare. She needs to start racing.
