The only thing we *do* know about the One Piece (not as a spoiler, Oda just said it outside of the manga to reassure fans) is that One Piece is not symbolic. It's not "adventure", it's not "the friends we made along the way", it is a tangible thing in the One Piece world. As a manga reader, I still don't know what the One Piece is at all (although we have theories, a lot of them actually cause it's fun to speculate xD but we really don't know) so we're about as clueless as you are beside that single fact of Oda answering that specific question in an "interview" to say that it's not symbolic.

Don't let the length of the anime scare you away from starting it. It's a great experience and you'll wish it never ended. There's no pressure to catch up to current episodes, the start of the journey is really worth your time. Just start watching and go 24 episodes like two seasons of a regular anime, and then see how you feel about the rest. Either you'll feel it's enough, or you'll feel the show is worth every minute.

I prefer the anime but I also ADORE this live action! It’s actually brilliant! Welcome to the One Piece Nakama :) They kept a lot from the manga that the anime left out. They also changed a lot from the manga and anime. They aren’t bad changes. I don’t want to say too much cause I don’t want to spoil the fun of the anime and manga for you. The anime seems daunting at first but honestly i got about half way through it in about 2 months. Granted i did take breaks; trust me you'll need them. Not due to the grind but the raw unchecked emotional impact. This anime will have you chuckling, belly laughing, tense, unimaginably mad and bawling like a baby in the span of one episode sometimes. You'll need to regather and think hard on if you can finish it

The thing with the live action is that they kept all of the most important parts (like Luffy stabbing himself in the face lol) and stitched them together with scenes that are different but similar and it overall works super well

Best way to tackle One Piece in my opinion is take it Arc by Arc, like I go a long time in between watching arcs just to give my brain some time relax and not get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content involved. I also tend to skip filler/non-canon arcs and the movies cus their canon-ness is debatable. Like I'm way behind the anime since I just finished the arc with the flamingo villain, and that was still like 118 episodes! So it'll probably be a while before I go to the next one.

changes huh. if you wanna think changed think this adaptation EQUAL and the same as Lord of the Rings is to the books. literally the same flaws, and equally as good. they mainly shuffled and events, merged or changed some things, omitted some characters and themes, but overall all VERY true to the lore and the og material, just shuffled. all to streamline and save some buck cuz well, budget. like a parallel path of the same storyline. and they didnt change the characters, they stay VERY true to who they are. just some things play out differently. SOme may say one character at least was changed but I disagree, he wasnt. just a different path. condensed.
