With the lockdown it has been fun to travel to yard sales with you. Plus it doesn't cost me anything. You are so courteous and I appreciate that you handle everything with care and put things back. That was some great buys. The two coolers, and the vintage lawn chair were the best finds I think. Usually they are not in as good of shape as the ones you found. Mystery gifts were cool too.

My dad used to buy the rolls of webbing and re-weave those lawn chairs when they got frayed or torn. You only needed to replace the frayed parts and not the whole chair. Those chairs lasted forever!! Memories... Thank you for taking me along!

2:10 That's what I love about CP, he's honest and tries to help out other people, even if it means walking away like this and not needing anything from their sale. He helped prevent her from selling other clubs that didn't need to be in there and that weren't part of the set. He 'could' have just bought the whole set for those clubs and sold them, which may have put her at odds with her hubby. Instead, he called it out to her and she was thrilled and he was happy to be of help to her whether she had anything to buy or not. That's a quality that we need more people with nowadays.

True story: My brother in-law needed to get insulation for his attack but didn't want to pay full price. He kept waiting to see if he could find it on sale. My sister got tired of waiting so she told him just to go buy it even if it was full price. He told her that he was going to go to a few tag sales that day and if he didn't find it, then he would go out and buy it. She decided to accompany him because she enjoyed tag sales as well. He went to a few and at the point of giving up, while driving he sees rolls of insulation amongst other stuff out in the driveway. My sister didn't want to get out of the car at this point so he went by himself. He began picking up things putting him down try not to act desperate for the insulation. He finally says to the gentleman at the house it was standing there looking at him and asked how much for the insulation. The owner replied, "Sir, this isn't a tag sale. I'm just cleaning out my garage!" That happened about 25 yrs ago and I still die laughing. 😂😂😂

It is normal and expected to bargain at yard sales. It's not rude. The seller can always turn down the offer or make a counter offer. And the radio was missing a cord. You don't know the history of an item and how long or where the seller has been trying to sell it. For example: Earlier this year I helped a friend at her yard sale. She allowed me to sell some of my things. I had some castle hanging ornaments that we had tried selling at her booth in an inside flea market. It was at the end of the day and a customer was looking at them with longing. I made her a group offer so she could buy them all. I sold about 5 at $2.00 each even though original asking price was $8.00 each. I even threw in a storage box because I wanted the items gone, to a good home.

People used to also greet each other with a Good morning or Good evening. Masks and social distancing has made it more difficult to be courteous out of fear and distrust. Neighbors don't recognize each other when we all look like bandits. Let's reach out if only by reintroducing ourselves as we are out walking by our neighbor's homes. fyi, those Gates, with the big circles between each panel, that's a swimming pool kid protection. you have holes drilled in your deck, you put poles in each hole and then you put the gate around the pool. it's to keep the kids from falling in it. I used to install them.

I was at the garage sale where you bought the tennis rackets and coolers. There was a Sony CD player right by the rackets and I was going to buy it and forgot to go back over and pick it up. That was my best garage sale of the day. I bought so much from them. I need to start looking at rackets ... I walked right by those. The prices at that sale were amazing!!

Good finds. I bought one of those play yard things that look like baby gates and mine has 8 sides. My grandkids don't even use it, so I just used it to block off a square of grass I planted. This way the grandkids and dogs will stay off, lol.
