Congrats! Flying isn't the same anymore, and you've flown for such a long time - I am amazed at your how much energy you have. I am usually very cranky/jet-lagged after flying for just one day, can't imagine doing it professionally and you've done 11 years! Excited to see your next chapter in life. I am also quitting my job of 5 years this year and I have started searching for a new job, but I am thinking of going solo as well because I want to have more control over my life and what I do. Oh, Maria, I could not help feeling emotional Maria, I even shed a tear for you. I know we are supposed to be tough still I've watched most of your videos and watched you traverse the globe. Well. if one door closes, another one will open.......... 11 years is quite a lot, even though I worked as a flight attendant for 3 times that long. According to my opinion, working as a flight attendant for Emirates is definitely not a job for lifetime, unless you speak Arabic and get a chance to work in management, administration or cabin training. And I guess you make a litttle more money with Zoldi and investments? For me, it looked completely different. I worked for Germany's flag carrier and I was a kind of an 'aviator' from the bottom of my heart. Not only working just as a flight attendant for 33 years, but also I was working part-time in cabin training as an instructor and I was assigned to a commitee choosing new flight attendants. But my main task was to work aboard as a flight attendant. And this was my passion! I can imagine that resigning after 11 years full of interesting and exciting experiences is not that easy and it feels a bit strange to not jump into your uniform anymore. Well, the pandemic makes it a little easier for you to leave the sky. For me, resigned and retired in 2015, aviation business was still going very strong, and on the day of my last flight it was like a sudden cut. One good thing, I can still buy unlimited staff ID-tickets for me, my wife, and limited number of tickets for friends and relatives for the rest of my life (doesn't make much sense right now during the pandemic, unfortunately). Wow, that is such a lovely story about your Sky passion, flying job and choosing new flight attendants ! Thank you so much for whiting this story! You are right, during the pandemic it is easier to switch to another passion, and in my case I am into ZÓLDI for 4 years already and do not start it from zero ☺️ I am glad to hear about the tickets, for sure you will use them as before. Hope really soon ! ☺️

Speaking Arabic is not necessary to work in management or training in Emirates but one thing is for sure, Emirates, Etihad or Qatar are definitely not the airlines you can work as a cabin crew for 33 years. I worked for as a cabin crew in UAE for 4 years, it was a beautiful journey that brought me a lot of good things (including meeting my husband) but this lifestyle is just not sustainable for many years. Specially nowadays I imagine ( and I hear from my crew colleagues) that it must be very hard during pandemic. Regardless of that, all the best to you Maria and good luck with your future plans 🥰
