The annoying moment 0:54 Right before the crash they play a radio of Grosjean saying "Fuck". That just didn't happen. He probably said it in his head but at 140 MPH about to crash...the last thing on your mind is "I should press the button to talk to my team so I can swear".

@@tobyrichardson5085 There were multiple posts at the time (because the Netflix crew were spotted) from Mercedes saying that they weren't filming in the Mercedes garage. The way they do the filming is they stay with a team per race weekend and it was probably worked out ahead of time - like multiple weeks ahead of time - that they were going to film Racing Point at that race.

They try to make their own story lines like sainz vs ricciardo in s2 rather than cover what actually happened in the races. I guess they have to condense >20 races into ~10 episodes but they always miss so much and some great drivers' perspectives

I think their goal is not to show every single moment of the season but to provide a storyline that viewers that are not F1 fans can understand better. DTS was the reason that I started to enjoy F1 and I never missed a single race since the premiere of season 1. They are masters in making the casual viewer enjoy and getting involved in F1

While I do think it’s good for them to have simplified storylines for the general audience to follow, I think that by season 3 or 4 of watching solely DTS the general audience should be able to follow the more complex storylines. I still give them some slack for that though whenever they miss a good storyline. Hopefully for next seasons they either add more episodes or focus on the best storylines rather than trying to create their own. I will say though that I enjoyed season 3’s storylines ten times better than the previous 2

@@ellaella5537 Well i am Dutch, perhaps a little biassed. What i ment is that Max as a subject of the series feels he is being portraited as the bad guy. He thinks scenes were swapped to build a greater controversy. Sadly this is true. By putting scenes in the wrong order the series director does lie. Max Verstappen is not coöperating if he thinks his personality is badly portraited. Max Verstappen is Dutch. Dutchies use English different to native English speakers. This is often seen as rude, indifferent or even mean. As far as i know Max Verstappen he's a very straigt forward guy, honest to the bone. Netflix has bad luck, he's the new world champion.

Personally, I think last season Perez was the most amazing driver, he deserved a whole episode, had a lot of drama in last year, RP F*king him over with the strategies, then missing 2 races because of COVID, Vettel taking his seat, Engine issues, Lance getting a lot of preference in the team and then winning the Sahkir GP even when he was last in the first lap, and then getting the Red bull seat. I think they should at least made a full episode of Perez and Rusell in the Sakhir race. it was with ups and downs, but overall it was good to watch, a lot of emotions were felt in that race, sad for Russell but Happy for Perez, I think he deserved that victory more and it was well won.

Regarding Grosjean's crash: I remember watching it live and there was quite a long time where we didn't know either whether he'd survived or not. No footage was shown after the initial fireball for a while after, since they had to make sure that they weren't showing something they aren't supposed to.

I don't think the Romain episode is overdramatized at all. For one, it captures the how it felt watching it live. Those two minutes really felt that dragged out, and the show conveys it to my wife, a layman, way better than I can, and she loves the show but doesn't watch F1 live. Secondly, as you said, they worked that drama into such a wholesome ending, and an avenue to really praise the sport and people around that saved him. I loved the show for what they did that episode. It puts Grosjean in such a positive light at the end of his career as well.

George made a couple mistakes (less than bottas though), but other than those he was fairly consistent. But you can't make a miracle out of a car that is significantly slower than every other car. I'm not going to hype George like the others do, but he won the F2 championships, and I think that counts for a lot and in the future he should be a WDC

Missed three things in the whole drive to survive season 3. 1) After covid, pre season start there were lots of virtual gps played but there was no mention in the series. 2) Nico hulkenberg had stepped in twice but there was no mention about him. 3) Very less mention about George Russell's Mercedes adventure. He dominated Bottas. So it again fuels the debate of Car vs Driver.

The thing is, with the 2020 season there was so much drama and so much of it was last minute it would very hard to plan episodes and there was just so much content they could have made several episodes for each race. They must have needed so much editing

Hmmmmm from the looks of it, it seems like a there are a lot of missed storylines again...like George Mercedes Drive, Hulkenback, Kyvat fighting for his seat, Lance Pole maybe?, Cyril Tattoo bet maybe?, George safety car crash within points reach and im prolly missing some more now, but maybe some the mentioned were actually covered, i guess well see then. Quick personal opinion: I feel like when dts cover races they should take a more of f1 inside tracks approach, outside of races with drama they can do there thing

Was a casual fan of F1 before DTS, now I cannot get enough of it. I've watched every race since the first series aired, and its helped bring me the the WTF1 channel. Even my partner (who is not into sport) is interested in F1 and watches most the races. Every mate I know that has watched it is now obsessed thanks to DTR.

Bottas gets a full episode, but Hamilton and his record breaking season gets 2 minutes in the final episode. And the fight against racism gets 1 minute of Hamilton talking about it. It just pisses me off how Netflix wastes time with Haas and renault, but the actually remarkable things of the season or the important things like social justice they leave it out.

I mean, not everyone's story is on a straight line, Renault at the start of the season was a wet blanket and came strong towards the end, Alex you have supper high hopes at the beginning and it just continues to turn into a tragedy, this is a theatrical show, people expecting it to go GP by GP are stupid, that's not how development even for cars works

Right before the crash they play a radio of Grosjean saying "Fuck". That just didn't happen. He probably said it in his head but at 140 MPH about to crash...the last thing on your mind is "I should press the button to talk to my team so I can swear".

I didn’t think the Grosjean episode was that bad. It was a pretty serious crash, and drivers were generally worried about him. The car broke in half, and he was pinned on fire under the barrier. I wouldn’t call that over dramatized.

this was the worst season of all 3 I am sorry but this is truth. There were so many highlight to cover in this season but Netflix missed lots of them. Where is god like drive of George Russell ? Where is mercedes demolishing themselves during pitstop? Turkish GP rain and tire management of Hamilton ? First podium of Vettel ? Where the hell is HULKENBERG ? Netflix really need to do better job or give us 5-6 more episodes

Yes, it was okay. In my opinion they could have made an episode about the history of Formula 1 or something like that, because there is F1 for a very long time. There was also missing an episode about George at Sakhir. There are so many more things they could put in the series. It is not bad, but they could do better.😬

They missed big story lines in season 1 and 2 also. But they made up plenty of drama all on their own anyway. 🤣🤣🤣 seriously. The covid protocols for the Netflix team as they moved from team bubble to team bubble had to be hell. No way to change much on the fly last year.

Easy because they are a small team, they can't predict the future and they can't be every where all the time. It was already hard to be flexible with the strict bubble policy so reacting to last minute things was simply not possible.
