I agree! I will wear 4 layers of PPE as an engineer to celebrate Bottas win. He proved he was right at starting at P3. Lewis should get the silent treatment for acting like a kid before race stsrt because he knew he will tow bottas to an overtake on first 2 turns.

I see your point, but I liked how they shed light on how their relationship changed from the 2019 season. I for one presumed that they were still happy-go-lucky friends this year, but seeing their subtle jabs at eachother all edited together did provide for some good drama. Say what you will but it made it way more interesting than just "look at these drivers - they're best friends"

I really enjoyed this season but honestly, episode 8 was prob my least favourite of the entire series. It just felt so fake, like when they played the Brazil 2019 radio message when Vettel and Leclerc crashed or when Lando and Sainz were fighting and they played audio from Lando's battle with Perez. Out of all the episodes, this one had the most artificial feeling.

Yea they kinda missed the mark. The jabs happened for two years. The discussion about when “future info” would be cut off, or the fact that his mclaren road car was taken back the day after the contract was signed, and the swing back and forth during the season- scoring streaks- would have made better, and closer to real, drama imho.

My favorite moment of the entire 3rd season was Toto Wolf just laughing at the teams who protested pink Mercedes, while being an absolute ultra giga chad, saying something like "we aren't interested in drama, we do our talking on the track". Dude, that was insane. Episode 2 if I'm not mistaken.

from what ive gathered, netflix films each episode during a race weekend, and they typically "focus" on a driver or a team for that particular episode. everyone seems to think drive to survive is supposed to be a like "recap" or documentary on the latest season, but thats not really what its about.

Actually, drivers really are told when to push during qualifying sections. They spend quite a lot of time balancing their speed so that they're on the optimal position for a quick lap.

After watching DTS I think the reason why Cyril was let go by Alpine(Renault) was because Daniel left the team. To back up my claim I think Alpine were not happy with the amount of money Cyril convinced Alpine(Renault) to shell out for Daniel only for him to leave by the end of the two year contract and that is why Cyril is not happy at all in DTS on Daniel leaving.

I really get Cyril. He saw in Daniel the future of the team, a change for the better, and after a year, not even giving proper time for him to prove what the team can do, Daniel just gets up and leaves. I mean, there is no right or wrong answer, Daniel wants to be in a competitive car, which is quite normal, but not giving Renault the "faith" they deserve. I'm saying this as a McLaren fan, being thrilled that Daniel is coming to the time, but on the other side, I would be pretty wary that if McLaren has a bad year, Daniel is just going to get up and leave, rather than being there to help the team get up, etc.
