Awesome episode guys. Action packed at the start then nice and relaxed at the end. You definitely redeemed yourself in the Surf Keelan. Then those seals were complete show off's. We have spent a couple days at Phillip Island and the Mornington peninsula and loved it so much. We can't wait to spend a lot of time there one day!!

Hey Bradley that was advanced mate! I struggled being 90kg on a PU board. The wave Dosnt push back much so bogged a lot of rail trying to work it out!! I reckon a epoxy board would go better for me!! Thanks legend

23:10 that quarantine station was on the grounds of [Army] Officer Cadet School Portsea. I was trained there in '82-'83. When I arrived, the quarantine buildings were untouched and peering through the windows was a look-back in time. Just hands and tools down, they just walked away years before. The station was cleared in '85/'86 to accommodate women who were training to be officers at Portsea before centralising officer training at RMC and ADFA.

Portsea is a very historic place. I trained there as an Officer Cadet in ‘85. As you say it was originally a Quarantine Station established when the passengers of the Ticonderoga had to quarantine there as result of a typhus and scarlet fever outbreak. The fort at Point Nepean also fired the first shot in anger of the First World War. The German ship SS Pfalz tried to escape Melbourne and run past the rip of Port Philip as war was being declared. The ship departed the wharf and in the meantime the message came that war had been declared. The ship was messaged to heave to, which the ship of course ignored and raced toward the heads. The battery at the Fort was ordered to fire a single warning shot across the bows, which it did and after short tussle on the bridge between the ships Captain and the Australian pilot the German Captain surrender and the Pfalz was taken into captivity. So the gunners of the Battery at Point Nepean went into the history books as having fired the first shots in anger of the war. Cheviot Beach was also the site where then PM Harold Holt went missing during a swim in treacherous surf. A pretty eventful place.

Wave pools are always hard to surf first up. The difference in the bouyency between fresh and salt water takes a bit to get used to
