Davenport, Marshalltown, Knoxville, Boone, Spencer. Great Tracks in Iowa, we need to pack them stands again

The biggest problem with Davenport, is the 10pm noise curfew. But the track is 1/4 & 1/2 mile

I grew up less than 1 1/2 mile from that track, as a kid I used to walk there from home and my dad would come from home to pick me up when the racing was over, there is a lot I could tell you about that place, a lot of good memories. And I am 66 years old, I was there back in the 60's, 70's, 80's, a number of drivers back then said it was one of the best maintain tracks in Iowa In case you are wondering, when I started going there, the coupes racers were slowly being phased out.

My Grandpa used to take us to the races in Marshalltown when we'd go there for vacation. He was the chief of police at a small town near there

yes there are some nice local tracks, but the truth comes out 8 minutes so you get the max commercials for the time involved ho ho soo the truth comes out, lol, its interesting on one perspective how to make sucess at a local track, clean track, put your time in, get enough classes for someone to compete, and have the proper truckes and crew to clean up wrecks to keep a tight show.

I was at I70 speedway last weekend. High limit sprint cars were there. The stands were 1/4 full Friday and just a little less than half full on Saturday. It was sad.

I think it needs to be mentioned that Chase Brisco, rumored to be going to Joe Gibbs Racing, just sank a damn fortune into his sprint car team. But Gibbs doesn't allow his drivers to run dirt (ask C-Bell). So does he go to JGR? or try to find something else?

My opinion… when a track has no more than 12 cars in any one of its 6 divisions, it’s time to make some changes! So if you can run full fields and get the show done by 10pm, you’re a superstar promoter!
