I really like the modern King Seiko and it's sort of attainable! But I'm on a watch-buying fast for 2022 so I don't know if ill feel the same in 2023. It's nice to be able to see the Grand Seiko's and King Seiko's in person though!

@@AliasEveWatches When you got that rotary from the UK did you have to pay any tax and did they send it as a gift or product? I save alot of money by asking Japanese sellers to send as a gift and if its on aliexpress or Ali baba I make sure to pay 135.01 or more so I don't have to pay 20% Vat then ask the sellers to send as a gift or 10usd. Ib the UK we have a 49 pound limit for gifts so if you want a watch ask if they can send as low value or a gift ot find someone that can forward it. Has saved me so much. Sometimes I have ordered multiple watches and made a decent profit on ebay plus I get to choose the one with the best accuracy lol Its kind a nice they have face masks that suits the stores colour. I would feel sorry for a non watch person selling auto watches. I remember asking in a big watch store in the UK if this watched hacked or not and he was 60 and said I have never had anyone ask me that that me find out (if he knew what he meant he would have puller the crown) I don't mind non hacking watched as long as I fan back hack them but I realy don't like watches without habdwinding. Rotory was a great brand now is just a cheap UK only Chinese quartz brand with mineral glass they have made a few autos with low quality Chinese autos, a real shame as they have a nice back catalogue and could become a more premium British brand. After WW1 they upped taxes like crazy do most manufsfters moved to Switzerland like rolex and well everyone. The UK should have never been involved in WW1 we did not owe France anything, none of our interests or safety was threatened and it was now a was of idioligy, if ni WW1 no communism, no ww2, no Korean war, no Vietnam war and far fewer wars in the Middle East. Only good thing that came from it was the wrist watch. It seems America loves to forget it just colonised the Phillipines by force and then gave it back after ww2.

@@luked2767 I was able to get buy my Rotary in the UK and I used a shipping service from UK to PH that cost ~$12. 😁 It was delivered within the UK so if there were any taxes, it was just within the UK treated as a local sale.

@@AliasEveWatches was the customs sticker marked as a gift or commercial sale 12 dollars is not bad for the service but royal mail is a pretty good price and reliable compared to alot of other nations in the west. In the UK we have a customs gift limit of 49 pounds into the country and you pay no tax. In the past it used to be up to 20 USD commercial was untaxed but now everything is taxed. When I buy watches I allways make sure it's over 135 pounds as if over 135 the website can't take the UK tax VAT rate of 20% then I ask the seller to mark it as 10usd and I have never been taxed. When I ordered my seagull 1963 I ordered a gooseneck version for myself and a standard version to sell and I made pretty good profit on it with no tax. What's crazy is the singles day sale 11/11 in China (best time to buy stuff from China) It's memorial Day in the UK lol as WW1 the war that gave birth to the wrist watch ended on 11:11 11/11/1918 People wear a paper red poppy around that time as after the war loads of poppy's grew on the killing feilds but when UK diplomats visit around this time they assume it marks the victory for the opium wars but the WW1 poppy had no drugs in it. New Rotary actually makes a few watches around that time of the year with a poppy on and they give the profits to disabled veterans or war windows. Just a shame its cheap quartz and mineral glass, I feel it's a brand that could be revived nicely. If ever I want something from Japan I usualy find a Japanese wholesaler on eBay or a similar website (knowing the exact model number helps as the names we give Seikos and Orient watches are made up by English speakers) and about 60 percent of Japanese sellers are willing to ship a watch as a low value gift, ironicaly making the JDM version alot Cheaper than the standard version in the UK. Small US and European stores will do it but you will get no luck with large outlets as a few times a year one store has a huge Glycine sale and I really wish I got one when the dollar was not so strong but luckily I have some freinds in the US. In the UK we don't have sales tax just 20 percent of everything we buy new goes to the government apart from a lower tax rate for vegetables and children's products. Some nations in East Asia are super strict with tax on incoming products (I use to smuggle loads of tax free watches, jewelry , expensive handbags,apple products and dried baby milk forumula from HK into mainland China and the price difference was insane. I would go a few times a year and swap all my savings for 1oz gold coins and it was the best financial decision I ever made I only wish I purchased steel sports Rolex watches instead lol. When I went to South Korea I had a seamaster 300 from the early 90s (older than me and at the time not very valuable) in my hand luggage. It took customs 20 mins and they decided to let me in the country with it but if it's a watch over a certain value especialy a Rolex they won't let you into the country with it if your not wearing it and will put a receipt in your passport so you can collect it when you leave. If your Korean you have to pay alot so you can sometimes see Korean people back from HK and Japan wearing multiple watches lol
