Surprise, surprise taxing companies and individuals into oblivion doesn't materialise as growth for the economy. 😂

Leaving the EU destroyed our trade with Europe and cost the economy billions that Labour have had to try and find ways to replace to fund public services.

Oh they have moved on from that fiction. Too many people wanted proof it existed before labor got into office and gave billions away to two different trade unions and a raft of "carbon capture" investment scams.

the growth is literally only going to come from the banks which are still under regulation, Not really a good look is it for our economy when our main stand-out is the banks....

Growth will only come from government waste being reduced and taxes coming down. Labour and Tories aren't willing to take part in either.

Starmer can probably make GDP grow by increasing government spending - but that in itself does not bring more welfare to the UK.

@@lightningleaf23 That was 2008, not 2024. In 2007-2008 the government paid out 137 billion pounds it hadn't planned for. Makes the 22 billion look small. Not a Conservative supporter just saying.
@lightningleaf23

@@colbr6733 that was to support banks following a global economic crisis. The debt in 2008 was 1.2 trillion or 80 percent of GDP it’s now 3 trillion and 101 percent of GDP. It’s now in a far worse position
@Bungle-UK
@Bungle-UK 3 күн бұрын
@@lightningleaf23the ‘global economic crisis’ was so bad in the UK because of Brown’s hand off regulation in the city. Labour created the conditions for it to happen then somehow wanted credit for mopping up their own mess. There’s a good reason why every Labour government we’ve ever had has left unemployment higher than it was when they came to power.
