People are not quoting this properly the original case was for IPP Status and a tax payer funded armed Officer, there was furore over this from the public, so this was changed to he will pay for armed security. the original part of the case the IPP Status is still to be heard.

I didn't understand at first why he would go so far as to sue to get himself and his family protected by royal police, when they are in UK not for official royal business (during which they would be protected by royal security). And pay for it himself. Why not just pay a private security firm for the protection? But I didn't realize private security are not allowed to be armed with guns in the UK. That's a choice he made for himself and his family when he stepped down and moved away, though.

As far as I can see, Harry initially asked for IPP Status and also tax payer funded security, everyone went up in arms and his press office immediately changed it to he will pay for the armed Officer. This still leaves the IPP Status so that part of the case is still to be looked at. He must not get IPP Status.

What the British public need protection from is, the motorcades of your British Royal family. Why are there so many incidents, of pedestrians being hit by a Royal motorcade. A elderly woman just passed away, due to being hit by the Duchess of Edinburgh's, (Sophie) motorcade. The same thing happened with a motorcade belonging to William and Kate. A pedestrian was hit, and left with critical injuries. There was little to no reporting of the incident. This was not a NEAR catastrophe. This was a catastrophe. Someone lost their life. Still the British and UK media are saying nothing. If this had been The Sussexs motorcade in New York, and something like this happened, the British media would be screaming "Murder".
