10:38 I believe what Mark did would be categorized as a “full motion video + choose your own adventure” game.

20:46 You can just imagine the time management aspect that would be present if this were a game. Like for example, you start your secret horror stealth job at 10pm, and y'know, do your job, kill ghosts. But! Tomorrow, you have school. And if you end/complete your mission past a certain time like 1am, you'll suffer an energy/stamina penalty tomorrow at school. Meaning you can interact with the daytime section of the game less. You can't chat with others as much, meaning you increase bonds or friendships slower, so and so. What that does is it incentivizes a more aggressive, more efficient, high risk high reward gameplay style. If you can begin consistently finishing your missions before the penalty, you can do your job well and progress the story, AND interact with the daytime sections more. It encourages you to improve so you can do more. Another aspect could be weekends. Let's say, school is out every Friday and Saturday. And let's say, in the game, there are missions that would simply take a long time to complete, like you start at 10pm and you will finish it at 2am AT THE MINIMUM. Maybe it's a large map, or you have a lot of objectives, or the boss you defeat is repeatedly revealed as not the "real" boss creatures. The mission will simply take a long time, and there's no avoiding it. Needless to say, if you do the mission on a school night, you will HAVE to take a penalty to your energy/stamina tomorrow. However! If you take it on a Thursday or Friday, you have a free day tomorrow, which means you can stay out doing your mission even until the next morning. Since it is implied the creatures will disappear in the morning (some of them anyway), which is why you do your job at night. So instead of having the time limit of 10pm to 1am, you will have 10pm to 5am or 6am on weekends. Additionally, if you stay out till 6am, the next day will most likely be skipped since... You didn't sleep at all. And it helps balances the risk/reward factor. You can't continuosly do long missions on weekends without sacrificing the daylight section tomorrow. It could be a fascinating aspect that makes you triple think about the missions you want to take on. And as a way to bully and make the player stressed and cry and poop their pants, the game can have time sensitive daytime interactions or nighttime missions. So players have to make a decision based on their priority, such as: "This specific Friday, do you spend the day with this character and recieve limited time thing, like an item or some form of reward? OR, do you take on this emergency mission at Thursday night and go into Friday morning and receive an energy penalty to make sure something bad doesn't happen? OR, you'll potentially skip the whole of Friday and risk the danger *as well* because you were too slow?" All three outcomes can have their own consequences, such as a relationship lowering because you weren't there at an important moment, or a monster finding you in daytime since no one went to kill it, aka you, and now you have to deal with it potentially in public. It's fascinating, truly truly fascinating the mechanics a simple clock on the UI can imply. And also, the very thought of a creature you are used to seeing during nighttime missions suddenly finding you during daytime is a whole can of worms of it's own. The fact that the people around are not reacting to it, meaning they cannot see it, asks you, "How do you deal with this situation?" Do you try to run away and rouse moderate attention by running away from seemingly nothing, but the creature is... y'know... following you? Or, do you fight it in public using your weapons and pull IMMENSE attention by... pulling out a gun on a train and shooting into what everyone sees as thin air, but the creature is for sure dead? Which would you choose, y'know? And what are those consequences? Rumors? Law enforcement getting involved? A cover up by the agency? It lets your imagination simply run wild, and it's one of the things i love about the fake game stuff. A good artist can make you imagine different possiblities with their artworks. A great artist can make you ponder for hours over the implications of a clock. As much as I would love to keep going, there's no doubt in my mind that practically no one will see this, so I'll stop taking up space in the comments section. Another fun reaction video, thank you, Airier. I always love reaction channels where they share their thoughts, and you are one of the few who stands out. If any of you have read this far, just go make a fake game at this point, you are in way deep, my friend. But thank you for reading. I'll stop typing now, my fingers kinda hurt

Also, this long ass comment was just about ONLY the clock. Meaning it barely scratched the surface of LPCO's potential mechanics. I'd love to rant on about the soundwave UI at the top, the relationship mechanics, the potential weapons, enemies and tactics, the implications of the agency, the nature of your character living in a balance of normal schoolgirl and secret agent, more and more and more and more. But again, I'll stop myself now lol

22:55 Honestly, I would REALLY love some sort of a management or strategy-esque SCP game, or at least any sort of game that's more focused on the 'mundane' SCPs rather than the wellknown 'worldending' ones. There are soooo many cool and interesting SCPs out there but they hardly get any spotlight sadly

I wouldn't call the identification of UI elements and relate them to videogames as Pavlovian, since the latter are about conductive conditioning which is involuntary. This is about finding similarities in things that we've been used to and is a very conscious process of identification. Like he says, it's the context in which those elements are applied that give them meaning. The thing about videogames is that they're (more often than not) about choice, you as the player have to actively engage with the media in order to change it. No matter how many times you watch a movie, your understanding and what you get from that media may change, but everyone's experience with that movie is the exact same. With videogames, the possibilities expand because you impose your decisions on the world, and how you decide to act matters enormously to how will your experience be. Not only because of the way you will be engaging with the game, but because of what it says about you as the one playing. Well, of all the projects so far, Mollymoon is actually turning those creepy FMV (Full-Motion Video) into an actual game. There's a demo up on Itchio.

Just want to say in reference to what you were saying about non horror things with horror elements in them, I would highly recommend a (NOT FAKE) game called Sucker For Love. It is a dating sim about dating lovecraftian monsters that can end all of reality on a whim, all in hopes that you can convince them to smooch you. It's great and the sequel came out a bit ago :)

You dosn't seem to realize that the gap from having some art, a nice concept and maybe a vage storyline to a full linear narrative is masive, and then turning that into a videogame whit a fraction of the size looks and gameplay imagined is a gap so mazive it would be like trying to travel from Mexico to China on foot whitout a map, money, good or water besides wathever you can pick up in the way.

There are some OLD ass japanese games with their own visual art style unique from games we are familair with because they are on different hardware we nevr experienced. word of warning: some visual novel games are straight up porn (and/or horror)

Ahh, I remember playing those. My neighbor was in Japan when I was a teen and got a few of those for me to "check out the games japan makes". Couldn't play them due to no japan locale back then and internet being still in "modem connected to phone" phase, so no easy answers online, especially in polish. Maybe it was a good thing, because when I found them again 3 years age and got them to work half of them were 18+.

Also, because you asked if the Molly woman edited her eyes bigger or if she can simply open her eyes that wide, my older sister has eyes like that. I sometimes call her an Owl because you can see the whites of her eyes above and below her pupils. I find it fascinating that large pupils are considered cute, given that it's the complete opposite of wide eyes, narrow pupils. I honestly wonder why that is.

I've only played one FMV game -- Bad Mojo, and just a demo of it -- but I've watched Let's Plays of some. Night Trap, Dracula Unleashed, The 7th Guest, Phantasmagoria, Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland, Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh, Ripper, Toonstruck... And suddenly, I remember what both Gigi Murin and Cecilia Immergreen did for their debuts... but I'm not sure if the games count as video games or not. They both did kind of a KZbin Chat Plays with games made for the occasion, but Cecilia's was really simple and Gigi's was a reskinned Frogger. No surprise that we failed the latter. Some films that are 20 years old -- or, at least, released in 2004 -- for your reading... pleasure?: Catch that Kid; 50 First Dates; The Passion of the Christ; Twisted; Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; Hellboy; Home on the Range; Kill Bill: Volume 2; Mean Girls; Super Size Me; Shrek 2; Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; Garfield: The Movie; Napoleon Dynamite; Fahrenheit 9/11; The Notebook; Spider-Man 2; Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy; I, Robot; The Bourne Supremacy; Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle; Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow; Team America: World Police; Saw; The Incredibles; The Polar Express; Finding Neverland; Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events...

"SCP games that are real but are from something fan-made"? What does that even mean? SCP is its own IP. It does not count as fanfic because that would mean that SCP is based on another media or franchise, which it isn't. You CAN make fanfic about SCP but SCP itself is not fanfic. SCP is not fking fanfic. The best comparison I can make is that the SCP multiverse is basically like the Marvel or DC comics' multiverses. The writers have to follow the basic or set rules of the lore but can add in little changes of their choice, especially when it takes place in a different timeline, canon, or universe. Edit: It WORKS ALMOST LIKE fanfic, but the IP is not fanfic.
