Sandi. Thanks as always for your inspiration. In the funny way the internet spies on you, I fell down a rabbit hole as they served up documentaries and videos featuring Luke Sciberras. And I was just enthralled BIG TIME. Like Yes, Yes, give me more. And I thought. You know who would love this wonderful artist??? Sandi Hester would love Everything about Luke's art and process etc. Then in one video they showed his book " Side of the Sky" and my mind went... brrrzzzzzzsst...wait,what... this IS one of the artists Sandi just recommended that I was going to check out and replay the vid and take notes lol ok... we're definitely on the same wave length. Love them all but will have to go more in depth with each one. But I'm thinking the sneaky KZbin may have already served some of them up to me.

Hey Marikas work is awesome but yours is in the same level of awesomenes. Your work is special!! and the way that you do this loose faces, animals and images the represantations have some kind of realness to it that makes them so great. I was looking the other video you where saying your work wasn't loose enough. But I think your representations were really loose and is good to sometimes have that duality between abstract and a little bit of real that makes it awesome and magical. I guess the representation depends on your mood and what you wanted to represent on that image and you capture it just right!! Hugs 😀

I serendipitously landed on your channel about a month ago and have just finished watching all your videos from day one! I made sure to like them all as I found your approach to be inspiring. I dabble in watercolours but recently bought acrylics so was very interested in how you go about your process. Your laugh is contagious and I often find myself smiling and laughing with you and especially when you and Grady interact. Wow Sandy. That was such a beautiful video, and I know I'll be rewatching it at least several times. I slowed it way down in the settings so that the images you were showing were there a little bit longer. It did sound like you had a few martinis before filming, but mostly it was helpful to slow it down. That cookbook's paintings are incredible. Although I am going to miss seeing you next week, I am excited that you are taking the time off. Please enjoy! Wow on the artists, books, and ideas. What beautiful colors and I keep hoping for the time I don't feel afraid to try something on my own. I love watching your inspiration because it's so different from what I'm usually drawn to, but I find it inspiring regardless. (does that make sense?) Also love your videos in general, they're so soothing and inspiring. It's almost weird because in the art world, I'm at the opposite side of the spectrum from you. You should check out Mary Tonkin, especially her talk about her work on the NGV channel. Her layering is on a whole new level in her large landscapes and it reminded me of you painting on your property. Thanks for the inspiration in this video. I can really see their influences on your work x
