The UFC aren't going to make that fight Tom. Alex is one of their superstars, and you are a guy who would almost certain beat Alex quite easily by taking him down and overpowering him on the ground and submitting him, similar to what you did to the huge Volkov. The UFC are in the business of making money, therefore they won't book you vs Alex. If they were to book Alex in a fight that he is likely to lose, it would only be against Jon Jones. The reason the UFC won't book you vs Alex is the same reason they won't book you vs Jones. The UFC aren't in the business of killing off their stars with fights they are likely to lose, that isn't good for their profit margin. You truly are elite Tom, but unfortunately for you, you also aren't a huge draw on the money side. Either way for some pretend legitimacy of the company they will likely tell Jones to vacate the title a little while after he beats Stipe, and then your title will be turned into the official one. Even though they would like Jones vs Alex, and Jon Jones would love that fight as it's an easy win for Jones, I doubt that fight will happen because Alex Pereira seems fairly intelligent and I highly suspect he realises that Jones would be a horrible matchup for him, Jones is a large long guy with elite wrestling and submissions skills, Jones is practically tailor made to wipe the floor with Alex rather easily. So don't expect that fight to be made. I think Alex will remain at 205 and will fight 2-3 more times and then retire. Those next 3 fighters he faces at 205 will likely be Ankalaev, a rematch against Hill, and possibly a match against Carlos Ulberg. As far as yourself Tom, quite likely you will beat Blaydes. He needs to stay more active. Alex since November last year, about same time Aspinal's last fight. Poatan already fought 3x. I hope he dont get injured against Blaydes and he stays active. In the current roster of UFC champs Aspinal is the least active.
