Jett Lawrence enters 2025 as the reigning 450 Supercross Champion, SMX Champion, and Motocross des Nations Champion (with Team Australia). However, in this interview, you can see he's just as motivated as ever to win races and Championships. Supercross is hosting mini pre-season press conferences with the top factory riders this year. During Jett's time on stage, he was passionate with his words, not holding back his thoughts after receiving criticism from fans.

Bro thank you. Jett in my opinion, tries too hard to be likable. That’s why I’m not a fan of him. But I do not dislike him. I was a Roczen fan for the longest time. He was my favorite. I don’t know what he has been through. But something lately, with the interviews, then the chase down of Cooksey….because he was making light of how the rider pay was unfair. Now I don’t like him so much. I’m a Haiden, Eli, Justin Cooper, Cooper Webb, Sexton, and Plessinger fan. Mainly because I’m a construction worker. Those guys work their ass off. After they polish Haiden’s super cross race craft, And reality check people, that’s all he needs. People are going to be shocked. His core muscles for the whoops are about where they needs to be, and look. He was fast last year. But he will be better this year. Jett was lucky there to be a more physical specimen at an earlier age. Interesting to see when Kay De Wolf and Prado get settled in as well. It’s ok to not hate people for winning. Especially when they work so hard.

Jett Lawrence… A real chance at becoming the greatest to ever swing a leg over a dirtbike. And a good amount of American Fans shit on him..relentlessly. I’m American, and I feel we’re blessed to have this young man and his brother hunter as fellow residents, racing in pro AMA SX/MX. I think the former should really take a step back and put everything into perspective. These guys did moto academy ..they’ve answered youth fan questions on technique and riding advice… if anything our kids should be watching these brothers ride..learning a little, appreciating what this is, along with deegan as well..how great are we if we shit on our champions? I was proud of the US at MXON for throwing together a team and going 2 on the podium! I was happy for Australia winning!! But I was damn prideful that there were 5 AMA riders/members on that podium!! And 6 if you count Webster racing a few outdoors with us this year! People come to America to realize their FULL POTENTIAL! …and THAT is what the Lawrence family has done. And to reach the pinnacle..the harder than ever to reach “American Dream”..we should cherish them, be happy for them! like we do all of our other riders and former champions. Jett, his brother hand their mother and father Especially have been theoretically I’m sure, to hell and back to see these 2 boys have the best chance possible for success! I myself have just a “”national kid”…just getting to Loretta’s was (as a parent) absolutely grueling, sacrifices both physically, financially and psychologically… If you’re a moto parent with a fairly fast kid, you knowwwww the sacrifice and painstaking work by yourself and your child! Knowing this!…the last thing I’m gonna do is belittle or disrespect the fruits of this entire family’s hard work. If you’re a hater.. what are you hating for? Do you even know? If you are one, please, take my comment in and really process it. And come up with a valid reason to hate these people.. Because I sure can’t find near a reason.

Ok, I went to AusX and was speaking with a team representative. Deegan was welcome but the event was pretty much sold out so why pay them to come when you couldn’t sell any more tickets. He doesn’t even race on the 450’s so why would the Lawrences even care.Anderson couldn’t race there as Kawasaki USA didn’t allow their riders to compete outside of the US. This is a media beat up at its best. Get your facts straight before hating on these brothers.

The fun Jett we were all used to was certainly not around in 2024 and now we know why. He is young and will hopefully learn to ignore the minority and celebrate with the majority. The TV presenters don’t help things every 5 minutes they talk about how great he is when they could be covering the race better or talking about a privateer that’s doing well to try get some sponsors interested. Race fans need to remember that these racers don’t need us but if we want to watch good racing we need them. Imagine the amount of SX live subscriptions Jett and Hunter draw in from Australia which’s helps grow the sport we love. Bring on 2025 it’s going to be an epic season!

As an Australian who loves dirt biking, all forms, its great to see an Aussie winning, but, most importantly, i love watching quality, highly skilled racers, even when Chad Reed was racing i still loved to watch James Stewart ride, he would just take different lines- different rythm section and it kept you watching to see what was coming next and he had that win at all cost attitude that made the racing great to watch-so Jett and Hunter just go out and do what you do and keep us entertained, stay healthy and fly our Aussie flag high!!!! i cant wait for the next few years watching the indoor and outdoor motocross

Jett will either crack from the pressure or will solidify and actually be the goat. I don’t think he has it in him and I have said it for years that the field will adjust and he won’t be as dominant. Jett gets hate because of his attitude towards other racers , and because he acts like he’s entitled on the track because he’s better than everybody else that people should just move out of the way for him and racing will never be like that. Everyone respects Jett & Hunter on the bike. Maybe not Jett grabbing Ando. Or Hunter cutting whoops 2 or 3 laps in a row last San Fran when Ando was right behind him... Ando kept reeling Hunter back every lap... AMA didn't see what Peacock televised live... Hunter got the points and the money. The latest w Ando & Danger being cancelled last minute for that AUS race wasn't cool. Maybe that time Jett broke Austin's arm. But they definitely both rip. Some US fans will cheer him over Danger or our guys in the future... but Oct/Nov of 2025, Danger will drop a gate with them both.

Danger boy isn't the threat that he and his fans wish he was. He won the outdoor title after the main competition left (his words). He won two three race series, SMX, one after the points leader crashed out of practice. He's not won a regional 250 title, but he is a social media star. He's over rated IMO. Talk is just talk. The thing is he's racing mostly has beens here in the US on sissified whoopless tracks. Jett is a great rider, but hasn't proven himself yet. A couple years ago we just RV, RD, Reed, JS7, and then K-Roc and Tomac jumped in the 450 class. Dungey was beating Tomac when he was in his prime. The field of Americans are weak right now. Haiden and at times Sexton is all we have as top riders.

Its not just social media. At the track, Jett was already a superstar with all attention on him before Hunter came up and magnified the attention to them both. The combination of duo Australians, and this last year of "nationalistic pride" leading up to our elections, the nature of banter from our more "patriotic" fans turned noticeably aggressive and hostile. In almost 50 years of being around this sport, I have never seen anything like it. Quite frankly its a disgusting abomination. Fans have normalized "patriotism" as an excuse to drown out, belittle, and triangulate against foreigners. These same people also feel entitled to treat fellow Americans with the same animosity and hostility, so the behavior has nothing to do with Patriotism. Thats just what they tell themselves to rationalize bad behavior. Jett is just pointing out what we should all already know to be wrong, and over-the-top.
