I also missed that. But it shows another big flaw of the light, there is no user manual in the package.

I just got the Maeerxu df01 21700 titanium and I love the way the aux lights work individually. In a circle.

I struggled for a little bit with the UI until I looked back at the diagram for it... Then I concluded it's all based on "shortcuts" from off. Double-click for Turbo, click for High or hold for Low, then you have an alternate for High and Low. Whether it's actually a good UI or not is definitely debatable, but it works for me as a simple light interface on a couple of inexpensive "muggle-friendly" lights... I like the design, but kinda feel they fall short in quality compared to some other lights in the price range. I find the P01 is quite fun after I dedomed the emitter - now it's even warmer with a tighter beam. The P02 is almost the exact 18650, single-emitter-with-big-TIR thrower (like I have wanted to see in the D4V2 body) but after using it, I kinda wish it were using an SFT40 - the W1 is either under-driven or I've just gotten spoiled. Great vid, sir... As always!

Reminds me a bit of what Skilhunt and Manker are doing with their UIs. I actually like it, even if it is a bit redundant and limited compared to the more standard UI with no compartmentalized mode groups. What kills these Fireflies for me is the unregulated output and the inability to adjust the aux lights. A shame, really. :/
@77surefire5 ай бұрын
750 lumens for close to 10 mins is pretty impressive considering the amount of throw and size/max output of the light imo. I love Emisars and have a D4S, D4V2 & have a D4K I'm waiting to order but they can't maintain close to their max output for even 3 mins or less. Obviously they are much brighter and heat gets them but the throw for the size is impressive to me. The P02 seems like a better light with SS bezel, bigger battery. I just bought one on a whim cause it was $17.50 shipped. Seems like a fun light despite it's shortcomings and a steal for less than $20.

For a 14500 light I love the Skilhunt M150 V3. You can get it with a warm Nichia 519A, the UI is good, it has a four-level battery meter, low moonlight mode, feels nice to hold, nice pocket clip, tailcap magnet, the switch is satisfying, and works with any AA cell. It basically addresses everything wrong with the P01.
@LuxWad Жыл бұрын
Yeah the M150 was the main light in the back of my mind when I did this review, it superior in pretty much every regard, though it's a bit pricier.

Despite some misgivings, I just picked up both of these lights. Mainly because they're both on sale right now for 50% off. I have to say that I like them both. Yeah, the UI is a little cumbersome. But you have direct access to both Turbo and Moonlight/Low. So, the only real UI problem is access to strobe and I never use strobe so I want it hidden anyway. I like to physically lockout my lights so the aux drain isn't an issue for me. Everything else is pretty good. Love the FFL emitters and the tint that they produce. The machining is first rate. To me, these lights are a no-brainer at the price point.
@njo9966 Жыл бұрын
Completely agree. The UI is unintuitive and poorly thought out. I didn’t even keep my P01 a week before gifting it to a friend. Not a keeper. Not even close.

thank you, I was just collecting information about them, and everything was explained well here.

Are there any alternatives to the P02 by now? I've been considering a D4V2, but I prefer single emitter lights, and sustainable output on the D4V2 (non-boost driver) is even lower than the P02.
@LuxWad Жыл бұрын
I'm not aware of anything yet that directly competes with the P02

One thing I really appreciate, especially in smaller capacity batteries lights, is at least some kind of battery level meter. Ideally-display like e.g. in Nitecore Tini2 (precise, muggle-friendly and with runtimes left), blinky voltage, or at least some sort of color/blink coded (far from perfect, if you have lots of lights and mix of solutions). Any of these onboard FF? Great vid as always!
@LuxWad Жыл бұрын
The aux lights will blink when battery is low (~10% I believe), shown towards the end of the video. That's all though, no proper voltage readout or anything like that

You can also simply swap the TIR-lens in the P01 with one from Convoy (S2+). My favourite is the 10° Beaded. It produces a much better beam.

Great as always. Killer price but yeah I got a few lights in my collection that I just simply cannot remember how to use and my inner ape is too frustrated to look. The Tip2 comes too mind, despite really liking a small flat form factor. And, Anduril is pretty much when I want to test myself for early dementia...which is not looking good I'm afraid though I love my won't roll away, high CRI Emisar DT8.
@LuxWad Жыл бұрын
Lol one of the main reasons I like Anduril so much is simply because every A2 light works the same so I don't have to think about relearning some complicated UI (though I still have to look up certain functions) Everything else I like to be super simple

Sort of like Armytek, but one huge advantage of that UI is that you can jump from one mode group to another without shutting the light off. I definitely wish Anduril would be more popular, the basic functionality is excellent and the extra features are super nice for those who need or want them
