🎼There’s nobody can sing bluesy blues like Robert Plant. He’s been singing with Allison Krauss lately and you talk about some good listening. But after all, Robert Plant is the King of Goosebumps. For sure the 70s-90s was the Golden Age of music for most, but there are kids now discovering all the old stuff (thanks, in great part ,to KZbin) . Some will take what theyve learned & make it their own. Modern production techniques are garbage, but people are realizing this and Id like to hope that soon pitch correction, quantizing, looped drums, click tracks and all that other garbage will be a thing of the past. ..and to be fair, some of that stuff has its place, but its so misused & overused so often , that it takes any "life" right out of the songs.

The drumming on this song is electronically programmed, so it's definitely not Phil Collins. This is from his second solo album (The Principle Of Moments), and IIRC Phil Collins only played on the first one (Pictures At Eleven). Robbie Blunt's guitar is the MVP here for sure, and Paul Martinez is on point with the bass. That chord change before he sings "leading me on" is absolutely *gorgeous* isn't it?

This was guitarist Robby Blunt. I believe he stayed with Plant until around 1988. He always matched up with outstanding musicians. After Zeppelin, his standards were high, to say the least. He did have the habit of firing his bands every few years….at least until the 90’s when he reunited with Page. Always searching for new sounds and ideas. After 2000, not so much. He found his place and had stopped trying to catch the “golden ring”……again

This song has something special about it. I could never quite put my finger on it, but there is just something about this song that resonates with me. It is one of a literal handful of songs that I can say instantly takes me to another place. Now, there are lots of other songs that kind of do that, but "Big Log" is one that I don't even have to think of when trying to name them. As soon as those first five guitar notes are cast into the air, I catch my breath in anticipation of the beautiful isolation this song seems to conjure. I was in love with this song long before I saw the video, and can honestly say that the video is, thematically, EXACTLY what I picture in my head when I listen to it. Your life has now been made better, for listening to "Big Log" by Robert Plant.

This song came out when I was about 12 and just getting really into music. Blew me away and is forever ingrained in my mind. Love it just as much to this day.

Robert Plant has been singing as a solo artist since Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980 and has released very good albums. He didn't want to just be the former singer of Led Zeppelin forever but wanted to live out his own creativity. On his first album there is a song that is still in the Led Zeppelin style "Slow Dancer". A great piece of music.

This music always made me think about riding horseback through the hills near Santa Fe, New Mexico! This is the first Robert Plant track I heard after he went solo. I still love it!

My mom used to play this song to make me go to sleep. 40 years later, it still hits. “In the Mood” is fun, too!

Phil Collins played on most of this album's songs and Jethro Tull's drummer played on a couple, too. This song is just a drum machine. Check out "In The Mood" with Phil on drums. In the 80s, when you heard the unmistakable "bark" from those concert toms on someone's song, you knew Phil was on the track.

He’s been working solo ever since John Bonham died. He just hasn’t been as prolific as a lot of us might have hoped. But what he has done has been right off of the top shelf. Big Log is my personal favorite of his solo work. If you want to hear something a little more revved up, check out Rock And Roll. 🤘 😊❤

If you’re impressed by his solo work, you should check out his collaboration with Alison Krauss. I don’t understand why no reactors on KZbin have reacted to these albums. They did two albums together the most recent being released, I’m guessing a little over a year ago, maybe two years by now. But you seriously need to check that out. It blew me away! It’s some of my most favorite collabs ever. Robert Plant in my opinion is the best rock ‘n’ roll voice of all time. What is so interesting about him, is he can go and do different genres and still kick butt. Please be the first KZbinr, that I have seen at least, react to Alison Krauss and Robert Plant’s collaborations. It doesn’t really matter which one you pick either. Just check out the most viewed ones. You can’t go wrong. Please check this out.

He's still touring today as a solo artist! Can't wait to catch him live and hear this again....... In the mood. Both of his debut solo efforts where stellar! Can't go more than 6 months without listening to either album!🎉❤🎉🎉

Plant is STILL a solo artist, still exploring genres and the boundaries of his own voice. Some great songs from different phases of his long career: Slow Dancer from the early '80's, Takamba from around '05, and High and Lonesome from his latest album with Allison Kraus '21. He may have lost some of his upper range, but his emotion, passion and the purity of his voice are fully intact. Zep was just a warmup.
