His lyrics tell the story of the Irish abroad, from London and Liverpool to New York and Boston and elsewhere. The second generation also and their experiences. Fair play to you Shane. I was born on Christmas day . I was so poor . I was lucky to get one present. I will be 66 this year 2023 . I just got back from holiday in Havana and am going back again soon . I have a woman there . Now I count everyday of my life . I'm so lucky . Drinking and drugs will kill a person . 100% RIP Shane. Safe trip man .
