You were laid off, do not say you were fired. They can interfere with your unemployment. Get your severance package and apply for unemployment to start as soon as that ends.

Laid off, not fired. Fired means the company is blaming you. Wanna be careful cuz the latter can make it harder to get unemployment and make it even harder to find jobs. If they used the word "fired" when they're just low on cash, that's not okay. But I've definitely mixed the two up before. Anyway I hope things improve for you. Layoffs really really hurt. Also sorry for all the edits, wanted to make sure I wasn't saying anything inaccurate. Also don't push off applying for unemployment. In Texas, you have about 3 months until your benefits start decreasing.

When I was not renewed at a job I loved, I was so disappointed and worried, but then I ended up finding a new job that I love even more and makes me so happy. I often think about the fact that such a stressful, sad time in my life ended up allowing me to find something I that is so fulfilling and I love even more. I hope something similar happens for you, & in the meantime, keep your chin up and lean on those around you for support when you need it. I hear ya, getting laid off effing sucks. I'm an engineer very early in their career and I was laid off summer of 2023. It does suck. Big time. especially when you don't expect it. Personally, I had a strong dislike, a disdain even, when people's response to my news of being laid off was "oh you'll find something bigger & better" or "it was meant to be" Like, ok maybe that stuff is true but I just lost my effing job.. and I am sad, and I am angry and I don't need to hear that right now. I'm just some random netizen who came across your channel to say that I hear you. It does suck. You were just laid off, the way you feel about that is valid

I'm with u mama's I just lost my job 2 months ago and I have 2 girls depending on me never let them see u cry I cried off of property stay strong we got this I will pray for u you pray for me and something wonderful will find us both I was working in a rehab and I loved my people with all my heart keep your chin up go out drink a few and scream in the air then Monday get your butt on indeed ♥️

Take your severance package & file for unemployment properly so,you can have a little time off.Make sure you have your ducks in a row & do what you have to do weekly whether that’s call in, register for work, etc. If it were me I would ride out my unemployment as long as I could then right before it ended I would look for another job hardcore. Unemployment is way less than what I’m sure you’re making but, if you budget accordingly you can do well. Good luck sweetie & don’t get discouraged.When people’s kids start going back to school there will be way more jobs since, many will have to quit their jobs to take care of their children or have lesser hours. Also? Many people will be taking off this summer so, they can spend time with their children while they are on summer vacation. Just keep moving. Get on local job boards in your area & just keep focusing on making your dreams happen. As much as the reality of everything sucks now, she actually did you a favour because, that opens you up to the job market for a better job & opportunities…

That happened to me in 2023. They laid my whole department off and then had the unmitigated gall to ask if back with a quarter of the salary we had. Everyone on my team said know. I believe someone is suing them for that mess too. I love tech. But I left tech because I have had it with these wishywashy companies
