Okay, two giant glaring problems with this story nearly halfway through after Santa visited them in the hospital. One, he was in a horrible bus crash and had a metal pole through his leg. Those things are at least a couple inches in diameter so how the hell is he walking? No amount of painkillers is going to allow him to do that. And 2, It was stated that the wife was put into Psychiatric care. That's not on the same floor, much less the same section as where he would have been placed. She would have been put in her own room that maybe had one other roommate and nice and secure, not the same wing as people with the real injuries. I used to work at a hospital so I know what I'm talking about

You're looking for logic in a story where Santa transforms women into animals? Solution for the problems: Magic.
@mykaelnyx8821 Жыл бұрын
@@CidVeldoril Usually I would agree, but magic doesn't count for the fact that they're human. Also that version of Santa was twisted and malicious, I'd think there's no way he would use magic to put them that close together to where they could possibly comfort each other
@mykaelnyx8821 Жыл бұрын
@@CidVeldoril Also Santa and folklore is also pretty twisted. Do you not know the correlation between Santa and Krampus? Krampus would punish the children by either beating them or even eating them. And he would know which ones to do that too because Santa would leave markings telling him which ones to go for.

@Xbalanque84 Жыл бұрын
@@CidVeldoril Honestly, I think her characterization goes deeper than that. Think about it, if Lisa was being a complete Cluster-B before, wouldn't the odds of Dylan cheating on her go through the roof? The story is sufficiently ambiguous that the possibility of her insufferable personality driving him to seek companionship in the arms of someone who isn't a total bitch is surprisingly high. Of course, if we accept that possibility, that also potentially recasts her final sacrifice one of two ways: 1. Lisa broke character, overcame her own Cluster-B tendencies, and achieved something resembling real redemption. 2. She stayed completely in character, and her choice was less an act of genuine love than one last chance to one-up her ex in a way that would be perceived as noble by the invisible audience in her head she's always performing for. Needless to say, knowing how those with this personality type operate, this seems more likely. I can't tell if that's what the author was going for, but if so, I love it. If true, it means Lisa's motivations were either genuinely noble for once or congruent with the psychology of an obvious narcissist like her.
@allmyragejones1 Жыл бұрын
@@Xbalanque84You call her a narcissist because she is angry with the man who cheated on her? Not to mention that he admits he is a crap father which is another good reason for her not to like him and treat him coldly. The mom is the one who did all the dirty work to save her son.

All this proved was the cheater, who did below the bare minimum to try and get his kid back after he yelled at him, survived and the loyal mother, who was determined to get her son back at all costs, lost and was turned into a reindeer.
@CidVeldoril Жыл бұрын
Below the bare minimum? Because he thought murder is wrong? I do agree though that the mom is smarter than him by coming up with the graveyard solution. Until the end I had thought that they all would be fine though, having learned their lessons and being given a second chance to make things better for the kid.
@Makeup4ever5 Жыл бұрын
@@CidVeldoril no one said anyone or anything had to be murdered. He pretty much sat by while the mom did anything to get her child back. He did below the minimum. He wanted a pity party bc he cheated and the wife left him. Yet he gets to live while she sacrificed herself still for her son. He didn’t even try to rebuttal her and say he deserves to be turned into an animal. Selfish through and through
@CidVeldoril Жыл бұрын
@@Makeup4ever5 True. But he thought this was about murder. As I said, the mom was definitely smarter by coming up with the graveyard thing.
@Xbalanque84 Жыл бұрын
@@Makeup4ever5 They skimmed over the specifics of the tasks from days 2-4. Your suggestion that Lisa did all the legwork for those is unfair. Even for the day 1 task, both of them were scrambling through the forest for hours; for all we know, Lisa was simply closer to the tree when they spotted the partridge, or assumed her lower body weight would reduce the risk of scaring the bird away/breaking the branch prior to capture. Moreover, the fresh blood on the bag of fingers suggests Lisa stole those fingers from living people and/or the freshly dead (be it at the scene of an accident or a morgue). Either way, she got her hands a lot dirtier than she would have by simple grave robbing, especially given that _embalmed corpses tend to have all their blood drained out during the process._ More importantly, you seem to be completely forgetting Dylan's constant guilt and self-recrimination throughout this story. He is animated entirely by regret about his sins and the damage his actions caused to their family, and he is doing his damnedest to do right by his son in atonement. In contrast, Lisa is jumping at every chance to twist the knife, including stressing Dylan to the point he lashes out at Henry (a classic gaslighting technique). And while Dylan tries to overcome their petty squabbles for the sake of getting their son back, Lisa continues to be distant and refuses to meet him halfway. If anything, she shows multiple symptoms of a Cluster-B personality disorder. If so, that means there is a distinct possibility that Lisa's sacrifice wasn't actually done out of noble intent, but a desire to morally grandstand and one-up her ex. Dylan was by no means a saint, but he owned up to his own responsibility in this scenario, and even feebly tried to rescue his ex in the end. Lisa did not. Lisa's redemption is questionable at best.
