I guess, change of POINT OF VIEW FOR employers is needed. Have these employers visited the Philippines as tourist even for a week? They will understand that domestic helpers in the Philippines are treated as a part of their family. Or a distant cousin. They came a far away land.... TO WORK. WORK. so that life will be much easier for the employer. Sad to say they are being insulted, look down and discriminated? WHY? what wrong have they done to their employers abroad? More than their fear for their lives is the fear that they can't send money to their families. Solutions: 1. They should always have the option or freedom to leave 2. Employers should deposit a year salary in escrow as insurance that if she disappear that money will go to the family 3. Monitor to protect these women.
