I was 67 when I was diagnosed with LADA. Misdiagnosed T2d a few years before. Low carb diet is probably why it took so long to get a correct diagnosis. I was in the honeymoon phase during that time.

@@mysweetdiabeticlife6244 Like how much water were you drinking?
@mysweetdiabeticlife62443 жыл бұрын
@@TransparencyBodycam a lot. I was painfully thirsty. I was drinking water constantly. My mother in-law still mentions it because she remembers how thirsty I was all of the time.

@@mysweetdiabeticlife6244 Did you feel a dry mouth?
@mysweetdiabeticlife62443 жыл бұрын
@@TransparencyBodycam I did. Especially over night. You might want to check with your doctor to see what is going on. You could also consider getting a blood sugar tester to just see what is going on. 😀 I just remember having extreme thirst and blurred vision as the early symptoms. I felt very dehydrated even though I was drinking so much water. Dry mouth and skin etc.

My A1c is 11 and I’ve been diagnosed with lada but I haven’t had any major weight loss. I am not overweight by bmi but I do have some belly fat so I’m worried if I get given insulin injections then I’ll gain weight? What do you think x
@mysweetdiabeticlife62442 жыл бұрын
Hello! I will be honest and say that I have put on some weight since starting insulin, but my A1C has come down nicely. I have been researching the weight gain and it seems like doing low carb is a possible solution. I’ve also just re-joined a fitness center. I think the most important thing to do is get your A1C down first and then focus on losing any weight gained (if you have any). I am not a doctor, but that is what I am doing personally.
