Fully polished watches were normal back in the '60's. My Omega Seamaster De Ville still looks great; there weren't huge area of visible metal back then, apart from the case back. The pressed steel clasp was not mirror polished.

I like the 069, that does look good. As for polishing, one of my Vostoks was sandblasted and I decided to polish it and went further than I planned. It looked fantastic after. Polishing is yes for me.

I like the flieger and the bezel makes it just that bit different so that's a plus for me too. I'd likely wear it on a strap rather than a bracelet so 20mm lug width is perfect for that. As for the high-polish one, it's probably just too much bling for my taste but well done to San Martin for introducing such an option into their line-up.

I don't mind all the polishing, but I'm not a lover of the bezels on either Watch. I don't even mind the coin edge, just not on a pilots watch. The fully polished watch would look better with a fluted bezel I think. Love the cream colour on the Dial.

I like a lot about San Martin watches. Great specs, nicely executed and good value. The only thing that bothers me is the color of their aged lume. I like aged lume in general, but theirs is either too orangy or too green (as it is here). Of the two watches presented here, I like the dial of the second, but the non brushed finish of the first. I'd scuff up that polished one in record time.

The first watch is let down by the clasp, only 2 holes of adjustment. Why didn't they use the same clasp as the second watch.The second watch is a stunner but a real finger print magnet and will probably scratch up quickly. Excellent non homage watch with a lovely dial and bracelet at a nice price. Well picked Gary, keep them coming. 👍👍⌚😎

I think the polishing works, but I'm not sure about the Oris-style bezel. I like the flat body and straight edges with the polishing, but the constant wiping and checking for smudges would mess with my OCD!

A great watch has a balance of looks and practicality. A field watch will lean more towards prioritising practicality, whereas a dress watch leans more towards looks. The full polished watch is a looker, no doubt, but is so impractical I wont be buying one. New it looks good but how long will the clasp for example look as it does and not prematurely old from just day to day useage. Nice to see San Martin making a more original design, and at a reasonable price too, but its a no from me. The field watch on the bracelet looks a good buy, and although it is by no means original, it looks very well made with great specs. Looking forward to what you bring us next Gary (have you seen RMALTI watches on AE yet? I have one on the way that looks very nice)

Would be nice to include a link, or links of their EU delivery points/warehouses. Both watches are quite good, especially the pilot. All round good, mechanism, case, crown and bracelet/clasp. Would be really nice if Seiko would take a look. Watches that sell at fraction of their entry watches are equipped with bracelets/clasps by far better than their mid to high models. The watch, any watch isn't just a case+mechanism. You pay your cash, you need to enjoy the watch looking at it from all angles. Wearing a Seiko, try not to look at the clasp, especially that....

Decent Pilot watch with hint of Oris with that bezel. Second one looks very, very good..BUT 40mm is far too big. If there are other sizes, great, but I think it would have been ideal at 34-36mm size. The AliExpress watch companies need to get on trend, and that seems to be a return to smaller diameter cases.

But reduce the case size and may be even try and squeeze in a high beat movement, and I think they could be on to a real winner, even if it’s a little more expensive because I think the design looks right and the colours look right (I’d like to see a nice blue in there), and the “jubilee” bracelet is a good choice too.

I saw this last watch on San Martin. I realy like the coin edge bezel,but somehow it seems out of proportions for me. 40 is a good size but the case/watch is off for me. A litle smaller bezel/dial would be better i think. The rest is realy on par with San Martin quality. 👍🏼

God save me from myself but I love it. It’s impractical, too small for me and the first scratch would give me Dante’s levels of hell guilt, but it’s the first review in a while that has me actively browsing Ali. I had got tired of SM and other brands going for bland, no-date, 36-40mm, forgettable watches. It’s a bold one and a cream dial makes a change from the black/blue/green/MOP. I’ve been pondering getting a cream/off-white porcelain/ceramic dial but they just haven’t been out there at the moment.

I am not a fan of either watch. I own a SM with that movement and the two micro adjust clasp and both are inadequate. The movement is highly inaccurate and 2 micro adjustments on oyster bracelets result in a difficult fit. I do not like the bezels on either watch or the fully polished treatment on the second one - it will be a scratch magnet. Big pass on both.
