Another really cool note to make, (This movie was VERY accurate, scientifically) In the segment when they are attempting to dock while spinning, you will notice that Anne's character passes out after the spin is initiated, however Matthew's character remains conscious. This has to do with the gravitational force experienced at that high speed of a spin, and she was leaning into the pull of gravity. Blood was having trouble getting to her brain, so she passed out. However, Matthew's character is turning and leaning INTO the force of gravity, allowing for more normal bloodflow and he doesn't black out as a result.

When this movie came out it was the first ever movie where i saw completely full theatre. Not a single empty seat. Throughout the movie you could hear people woo-ing, aww-ing and sobbing at the emotional moments. When the credits rolled everyone was applauding for straight 30 seconds. We got out of the theatre, it was already 1AM and sat to finish up our popcorns (the theatre was in a local mall and the fast foods were closed with a lot of free empty seats). Pretty much everyone in my company couldn't grasp entirely the physics, so i started explaining it really simply, why the waves were that big, why Couper was 124 yo, how gravity affects time and so on. A good 5 minutes in, i turn back and there is a crowd of some 20 people listening to me like i was a physics professor. A girl asked what was the meaning of the tesseract at the end and i explained how "they" decided to represent time in 3 dimensions and all of a sudden you could hear everyone going "ahaaaaaa" and their light bulbs going on. Formed a really good core memory from that one, probably the best one yet.

One of the cool facts of this movie it the black hole. They got with top physisics and used science to make the black hole on screen. Years later, we got the first ever picture of a black hole. It was exactly what they made. This black hole is the first and best depiction humanity has seen of one.

This movie is absolutely amazing, I wish I could rewatch it for the first time in cinema because man was that a special experience! Most memorable moments back then: - Me crying uncontrollably when Cooper left - Me crying uncontrollably when Cooper watches the video recordings - Me getting the freaking shit jumpscared out of me by a jumpscare that doesn't even produce a sound - Me crying uncontrollably when Cooper reunites with Murph - Also multiple occasions throughout the movie when Nolan and Zimmer blew my mind with reveals, music and action.

How did this man just skip decades of good films tho? It's a blessing my guy, getting to watch these movies for the first time, that would be special. That's why I am jealous of when and where I was creating my history, shaping my memories of these films. And how I sometimes associate all my happiness with it. And a fresh way of making something for yourself by posting this on youtube, when you look back to 2022, you will be proud of what you have accomplished. Take care man. Stay safe. Cheers to watching interstellar for the first time, and cheers to us bastards who were too young to remember but somehow we never seem to forget...

Great movie! If you want a recommendation for the next reaction, you should watch Edge of Tomorrow. It's a scifi movie with lots of great action, humor, romance and a little horror even so pretty much everything you would want. In the movie the main character lives the same day all over again, it is very entertaining and would be great for a reaction! Keep 'em coming!

Ever since I saw this in the theater on its first release, I've loved this movie. It's in my top ten all-time and I see nothing changing that, even with so many brilliant films coming out most every year from quality cinema from so many countries. I think Nolan is a phenomenal director but also screenwriter, and Jonathan Nolan is also a talented figure in filmmaking.

I was blown away in the theater, my friends not so much. They hated the music/sounds and the cube bit. I was the only one having a child at that time. I rewatched it a week after, with my wife. And now, so many years later, it hits even harder, because of the nostalgia and the first time watchers reaction to it. Thank you. Now my friends have their own family, I might convince them to rewatch it…

Fun fact: this movie is set in 2067, so John Lithgow's character is a millennial, which adds cool context to his comment about how when he was a kid, there was something new coming out every day. Also the interview clips in the movie are from Ken Burns' documentary The Dust Bowl, this movie is recreating a lot of the conditions of that disaster

The depiction of the black hole Gargantua was the most accurate depiction in film history. If you google "Event horizon telescope", you'll find the very first image of a real black hole taken...four years _after_ this film was made. And it matches this film's version. Incredible achievement.

Possibly my favorite movie of all time. There's a lot of crazy facts about the Soundtrack, like when they go into Dr. Miller's planet the score Time in the background it's the clicking of time in that planet meaning a day or week on earth per click or something like that(don't remember much the details). Also when Christopher Nolan approached Hans Zimmer for the whole OST the only thing he told him this story was about it's the relationship between a Father and Daughter, Hans composed the whole thing with just that in mind, in the end all the scores match perfectly with the theme of the movie about space traveling. Just Amazing!!!

"The days are 67 hours long" "You're going to get so much done!" To clarify, it means the planet completes one full rotation every 67 hours (or 67x2 if he literally means a day and not one day and night). Humans still need to sleep. There isn't magically more time in a day for a human. If we could somehow slow the Earth's spin so it takes 67 hours to spin, we wouldn't suddenly be able to stay awake longer.

One thing that was crazy is that when the movie was released, we didn't have a picture of a black hole, so we only had simulations based on theories. When we got that picture a couple of years later, it was compared to the simulations used with the optical limitations of our equipment taken into account. It was pretty much the same.
