This was the response I received from the devs after they saw this review: "Hi there, We saw your review of our project, and we get that you may not love it, but it's still in the Alpha phase. Just a heads up, our game is built from scratch, not using Unreal Engine Lyra. Our game designers and team have worked on games like Mafia, Arma, and Horizon, so they know their stuff. Quick clarification: before we settled on Citizen Conflict, we had working names like Cybertrade and Crypto Citizens it was a same game just different name, not other games. About our trade race manager game it was a game- it's different. But compare to Web2 You don't lose your assets when the game ends. We let users swap them for new ones, for free. And the trades on market are p2p Before making claims, do some research. Thanks"

I swear, the entire crypto/NFT space is built by people who love cyberpunk as a genre, but unironically think it’s a great future to live up to. I can’t even say they only see the genre at surface level, because a big part of the cyberpunk aesthetic is being very in-your-face and unambiguous when depicting how bad life is in these settings. Like, the word “metaverse” comes from Snow Crash, which is a book about life in a horrifying libertarian dystopia. Metaverse bros love comparing the end goals of their projects to Ready Player One, which I actually think is a bit too simplistic and heavy-handed with the whole “corporations bad” message.

It doesn't fit in at all. I don't know how you are supposed to take a game that use "and if it aint your vibe" unironically, but you would think they had at least one youthful person on the team that would be able to tell them that what they are making is beyond lame! Hell, Im not even that young anymore, so I can't imagine just how much the younger generation is finding this sort of obvious attempt at pandering off putting, but it just makes no sense to me that they actually think this would, in any way shape or form, actually be seen as cool by people that aren't way past 55 and are going through a midlife crisis...

"The artwork is pretty to look at" is the summation of what hurts my soul seeing things like this. Someone out there worked hard to make the art. Then poor business, poor design, lack of quality control all kinda took that pretty art and made something not worth anyones time... it just kinda makes me sad.

So i feel like you've already covered NFT games well and truly, thanks to you i can look at a game and see Lyra by eye now. Have you considered covering mobile games? i think it could be really fun to do a deep dive on all the weird fake game ads on twitter that community notes are always putting on blast. They call them "Non-core gameplay ads" supposedly - some years ago a journalist actually interviewed the guys in asia that make the fake mobile game ads, it is an extremely cursed. Literally this week i keep getting youtube ads for "hero wars" and one has a drowning dog being tortured, it truly is a strange and fascinating industry.

These finance goons look down so much on games and artistic endeavors in general. I imagine that the suits at the top of these crypto companies see their shovelware as indistinguishable from legitimate efforts. Watching this shortly after Hbomberguy’s epic length plagiarism video kind of makes me see some similarities in these ripoff crypto grifts

Negativity bias may make your NFT deep dives more popular, but having watched your Diggles video until the end, a game I had no interest in or knowledge of before then, I think you have something special that would be a shame if it was only ever used on these shovelware games. All that's missing is something to distinguish yourself from other obscure game reviewers like Maldaloregaming or Ssethtzentch.

As much as I enjoy these teardown and expsing of cryptogames, I also immensely enjoy your retrogames retrospectives. Especially of those obscure gems or really janky ones. Sometimes it is easy to dismiss those games back in the day because of all the games surrounding it but when we look back on them, they were not as terrible as we first thought. Your videos really did well on highlighting them. Admittedly, the only positive I can give to these cryptogames is the fact that they lead me to discover you this gem of a channel. But if I was in a knifepoint and forced to choose, I would watch your retrospective series in a heartbeat.

Found your channel a couple weeks ago. Your content is all really good, crypto deep dive or otherwise. You're good at letting the game speak for itself, great balance of observational commentary, dry humour and sarcasm with actually just, letting whatever game you're discussing showcase its own nonsense and drag itself down without you needing to just rip into it for half an hour. Its worked really well not just for crypto games, but also janky bad old games or even janky good beloved ones like your Driver video. Its a good style and you're good at it with all your videos imo.
