Another great video. I just about pissed myself when you put that green witch up. It's a shame you had to leave the car park due to those sketchy bastards. I'll tell you what mate, here in the USA you never know what your going to find at car parks and unpaid campgrounds. Once I was staying over night in a campground with one of my friends and after getting settled in, we played our guitars and sang a few songs, and out of the blue, in the middle of the darkness, someone started clamping. It freaked me out because there were no other cars that parked in this very small campground, and we couldn't see who was clapping. This campground was very remote; in Big Foot Country (Humboldt/Trinity County). Who knows, maybe it was Bigfoot, but I ended up staying in my truck all night holding my gun. I am glad you trusted your instincts and bailed. Now that more people are camping and living in their cars, it seems there are more weirdos out there ready to take advantage. People just need to be aware of their surroundings. By the way, all the scenery in your video was spectacular.

You are without a doubt, the best car camping channel on KZbin. I've kept up to date with you since the start... for raw, honest, budget camping nobody does it like you. That being said, I was viciously attacked in a case of mistaken identity earlier this year which put an end to my dreams of coastal wild camping in the summer. You were right not to take any chances in that car park, there's some real nasty f**kers about, I know this first hand. The only thing I would have done differently in your situation was arm myself with a tool on the way out. Secondly, it sounds like you've got one or two other challenges in your life at the minute Adam - that's okay these things happen, I've got plenty right now and I'm sure some of us watching your vids appreciate them as rest respite from our hectic lives. Chill out, reflect and do what is important for you and your family's well-being. I'll be sure to tune in when you're back online.

Hi Adam, I'm a car camper too. I've been as far north as Sky and as far south as Wales and Cornwall. I've just came across your KZbin channel. I enjoyed it and you made me laugh when you were trying not to land on your butt coming back down from the hill. Lol I agree with some of the others if your getting out of the car arm yourself with a tyrer rench or one of those metal tools for removing your wheel if you have a flat tyre. That way you can't get stopped by the police as having an offensive weapon. Lol those your allowed to have in your car. Lol and if anyone says anything to you you could just tell them you had a flat tyre you've just fixed and your just heading. Lol the government don't want people to be van lifers or car lifers because they don't have much control over you. So it will get worse before it gets better. But I don't know what the law is on parking in a carpark that A, has no parking meters so you could pay to park. B, you have road tax to be on any road in UK and therefore your already paying to be on the road. And. C, is it just the locals not wanting van life people coming to camp and therefore they've had the signs put up because I'm quiet sure that can't be legal if they don't own the land. Look up bylaws on parking and you could point them out in your KZbin videos. That will definitely get you followers. Good luck anyway. I'll subscribe and keep watching to see where you are next. If your ever in Scotland come to Greenock 30 miles south of Glasgow there's plenty of parking with beautiful scenery and walks and nobody would bother you. XXKathleen from Greenock Scotland.

thanks for this .... i may get a fire extinguiser duel purpose then, i think the law especially in that car park and other is if there a sign saying no overnight parking u could get fine, clamp or im only guessing towed away, as i guess your breaking stated law for that area, i did feel i kinda of had a genuine excuse but i doubt it would have held up 😉

Hey adam. Im new to the chanell. I passed my class 2 last week. Its been the biggest challenge of my life. I clipped a curb on first test and failed. Like you, after i hadnt driven the truck for over a week was promised a hour. Anyway short story. I got 10mins before my test to refresh the mind. On my test the examinner led us into a area where all the roads where closed and the truck wouldnt fit down the diverstion. At that point i was convinced i had failed as i mounted the curb trying to turn the cab around. Anyway i did pass with 1 minor. Dont give up mate. Im back there in january to do the class 1.. if youve invested the money take a month away from it and have another go. You can do it!

Alright chief? Just found your channel. I'm a lorry driver and the thing that made my test easier is this.... you know how, in your lessons, your instructor keeps telling you things as you drive? Well, I asked my exam geezer in the test, do you mind if I talk to myself while I do this? He said no problem. I'm telling you mate, instead of doing it in silence and it feeling tense, as I drove around I spoke to myself. For example, you have to turn left, and say.."indicate,.... mirror... slowly.....,no traffic..... keep going,... mirror"... It sounds silly but it does 3 things. It stops you being tense, it shows the examiner you know the stuff you should be doing and it reminds you what to do and in what order. Even driving along say, "ok 40 zone, no problem." Trust me, it helps. And when you pass, you'll love nights out. Night heater blasting, talkradio on or listen to some footie, cosy lighting, sat in your pants when it's -8°c outside. It's great. Best of all, as you're so high up you feel safe. I've never felt unsafe on a night out, ever, particularly if in a lorry park. Anyway keep trying. You can practice talking to yourself in the car too. Doesn't have to be a lorry. Anyway enough from me. You've got a new sub mate. 👍🏼

Stayed there myself Adam around March this year, no restriction signs then but didn’t feel safe either as a few cars did drive in at night and sat with engines running and playing loud music. A van lifer park close to us had a couple of dogs that weren’t tied up, just running loose, was frightened they would fight with my wee dog if I got out to walk her, other local dog walkers didn’t look that happy either. maybe this is the reason they put signs up. Didn’t hang around long come the morning - Hey that was funny you drinking from the river, think you would be better taking a chance with a cup and a tea strainer😃Happy travelling mate, good luck getting the exhaust fixed, there’s always something to hold up the show!!!!👍

Wild camping (and probably car camping) is safer in the Highlands of Scotland, where there are fewer people around. You can easily find solitude there. The only really bad experience I ever had camping was at an official campsite in Dent in Cumbria. I do my wild camping in Scotland in the middle of nowhere.

I've been looking forward to this but I feel your pain mate with what's happened . I'm really sorry to hear about the HGV not going to plan and those Idiots in the carpark scaring people off but your better doing what you did and go with your gut instinct. I'm just really glad that you're ok. What ever you do or can't do at the moment we are all supporting you. These videos are a real treat to watch and if no videos are available we can always watch one of your many great videos from the past as they are always worth a second visit u know u know. So stay safe and stealthy and I hope your issues behind the scenes get sorted out. 👍

Don't believe the hype of the HGV mate, the money isn't 30k+ I've been a class 1 tramper doing 70hr weeks and was only bringing £550 a week. The £20ph rates are for weekends at night and most of your pay will be made up of midweek £14ph. I've done van work, driving instructor and hgv and none of them pay what they claim. I know you might not completely agree with me right now but you wouldn't see much of your family driving a truck and the way haulage works with the money margins drivers are the ones who get shat on from up high. The only "great" job would be petrol tankers but you would need to live relatively close to a refinery and plenty of experience to boot. Driving trucks growned me down until I left the industry and although I don't get as much money my work life balance is a weight off my shoulders. If you live near alot of haulage companies then have a go at getting a planners job in the office they also have a few step ups the ladder to make it a genuine career option. All the best with the grind Adam, I say you've dodged a bullet.

Mate I feel for you. You have to think of the bright side and be grateful your home every night. My dad is a trucker and he would be away for the month and home for the weekend and it was like that for years. As we got older my mum sold her soap business and went back to nursing and my dad took a job based in France because UK wages are crap. Now he's back working in the UK and he works 4 days and has 4 days off and alot of wife's don't like been left with the kids for nights on end. Have you looked into driving for Eddie stobart? He has a training session to help truckers drive and pass

Yeh it's a different kind of life long distance trucking works for some not for others I guess to be honest I've moved on from wanting to drive the trucks for the minute

I'm originally from the UK, now living in the US. We have a home in Pennsylvania but fancy doing a bit of van life. My wife and I are big on the 2nd Amendment and both ex military. We both carry 9mm's, own a shotgun and an AR-15 which we would take with us on our travels, all perfectly legal. Would not expect to encounter any problems but if we did there is nothing wrong with being prepared.
@wanderingwhere2 жыл бұрын
thought about this as few a people mentioned a similar thing and thats it no one over there would pull up like they did over there as they would expect a sudden gun fight ... i mean most would jump out and start shooting for fear that what they were going to do

Sorry to hear about the HGV test , there’s still 7.5 ton drivers required. Hope you can get it sorted in the future.
@wanderingwhere2 жыл бұрын
yeh been thinking about that as i have my taco and bits now and a grand dad licence
@chox20012 жыл бұрын
@@wanderingwhere it makes sense if you do a few months on 7.5 ton you will walk the hgv test. The 7.5 ton trucks are a big long rigid lump to move about. Once you master that the hgv is different when it turns it’s actually shorter when turning. When you go back in for the HGV mention here I will deffinately donate to help you better your life for your family. Why because you make me smile with your videos the water filter was awesome funny it all takes away from a shit week sometimes. I purchased a ridge monkey this weekend I’m a full time stealth van camper so it will be perfect. I’m currently fighting condensation so that’s a chore . 👍 stay safe have some hair spray handy in an emergency
