Finally sharing with you my story from when I was sexually harassed at work. It was something that was so difficult for me at the time in 2016 and only now have I had the courage to speak up about it.

You are not alone and being harassed by anyone, is NEVER your fault. Never. I understand how you feel as my male coworkers have been sexually harassing me at my new job. I get very anxious, depressed, hyper vigilant, and paranoid. It’s overwhelming, but we can stand up for ourselves and heal. I wish you well in life, stay safe and take care of yourself. You deserve to be valued and treated like you are.

This is brave of you to share! It sucks that even though you were the victim in this situation, you still had to justify that you did nothing wrong. This just goes to show how our upbringing and culture influences our perception of these types of situations. You did a great job at keeping yourself professional during this entire incident! So much respect for you x

Sexual assault happened to me in the same workplace by two different managers. I had no other choice but to go to the Police. No one talks about the isolation, retaliation from the persecutors / company & acute PTSD that follows after going through this.

I've seen this quite a few times and had this happen to me as well. The repeating themes in all these situations is that once you report the supervisor the company, school, etc will retaliate and get even with you by making your life miserable at work, over scrutinizing you work to make you appear incompetent or fabricating performance issues to fire you. All of this is illegal retaliation. but they do this because they don't care and know it will take a long time to win in court if it even gets that far. In the meantime they can you and you are the one left suffering.

That’s why I don’t like it when companies try to say we’re a “family”. It makes it easier to use questions like “what are you doing this weekend”as sneaky ways to be harassing and nosy. You are not obligated to make small talk at work about your personal life and it’s amazing to me how people think they’re entitled to this information.

Thanks so much for sharing! And I'm really sorry for what you went through. I also went through a similar thing when I was a grad, I guess as you said when we're new to working in corporate we don't know what's right/what's wrong unfortunately. So really thank you for sharing. I hope people who are out there experiencing the same thing start realising that is not normal after watching your video. Some might think this is not a big deal, but for those who say that, you go through this yourself when you're a grad and have such little power within the firm.. it is super creepy

Thanks for sharing. I kept a daily written record of what happened to me from the beginning and reported it right away - in the second week and my contract was terminated in the third week because I was victimised by the manager, assistant manager and supervisor at work based on my race. I wasn't getting any training and was treated as if I was incompetent. When I complained, the company were intimidated by my written record and justified getting rid of me because I was new to the job and a temp. Things were so traumatic I had to speak up. I got full pay for my entire contract which to me, validates my complaint.

Always report sexual harassment to HR. Someone asking you out is not harassment, just to be clear. It becomes harassment when you decline any of their advances and they continue to bother you. HR will handle the matter because they have to protect the company from possible lawsuits.

Oh gosh - its interesting to hear how many similar experiences we had with regards to harrasment. My harraser was telling me that he loves me, even though his girlfriend was pregnant with his child. Those lustful stares like he is basically undressing you with his eyes... ug... how unfair. It's extremely uncomfortable in die workplace and you feel like you cant report that... because like... what do you say... "I dont like the way he looks at me..."? Anyways... I also had the guy touching me inapproprialely and have his face in my face... like inches away of kissing me etc. And you know what... I cant even say I was young and naive. Im 40 now and I finally escaped this man last year. I was told that he just seems to have crush. But he stalked me on social media. Would always find a way to contact me no matter how many times I blocked him. Even somehow knew where I lived. Ug no... this is ridiculous. And I am listening to your video now... because looking back, I realised how much I've actually been sexually harrased since I was a little girl. I always just took it as being normal, but looking back now... I realise how much nonsense I've had to face the last 4 decades.

Thank you for your video! It’s surprising how few KZbin videos there are about sexual harassment from the point of view of the person on the receiving end. Almost all videos are from lawyers or HR professionals. I unfortunately will be interviewed soon by HR and was seeking information about what to expect. I reported the incident and it was not adequately handled, then when I tried to address the need to handle it more thoroughly, I was treated as though I was being a problem employee, disrespectful, etc. I was even told that my behavior was perceived as “targeting” the supervisor to whom I was communicating. “Targeting,” meaning what exactly???? It did not make sense in the context unless they meant racial targeting (I am white and the supervisor is a person of color). Nothing I did or said, or the way I did or said it, had anything to do with race whatsoever. I feel like them turning it on me is a form of retaliation, to be honest. Anyway, this is a terrible experience, and I don’t know who to trust. Even my own supervisor-does she have my back or just the company’s?? This is a terrible position to be in, and it’s very depressing.

It is really important that victims speak up about this, it will never be addressed at the workplaces, either swept under the rug or the victim is bullied out of the workplace. 12 years ago I was stalked by a young guy at work. Story short: I ended up having PTSD. I liked the young man but did not want a relationship with him. He reacted in anger and purposely hurt me. But what followed is really the kicker. Bystanders ganged up on me at the workplace. To this day I am being tortured by bystanders. I have not had a single private relationship since I was stalked and which also cost me my long time marriage. Just lived a quiet live. The ones who accuse me of wrong doing are all women who have done nothing but sleep around and aggressively pursued married men. I am not kidding, extremely nasty women who are such low lives. Those are the ones who accuse the woman who decided against a relationship with a young man and was then stalked, while they have slept around with everyone within a thousand mile radius. Those are the ones that want to hurt me. They know pedophile rings all over this city that I live in and they make sure whenever I work that I will get harassed multiple times by really nasty guys and pedophiles that they know. They do this to me every single day at work. They threaten me with their cars when I try to cross streets. They will do anything to hurt me.

My self chosen celibacy for 12 years because I only accept a real partnership, not anything that is based on physical enjoyment only , clearly shows that I am not the person that the mobbers make me out to be. Me living a clean live for 12 years, with self chosen celibacy because I believe in love only and not in taking advantage of others, clearly shows my true honest intentions. It also shows the nasty intentions of all the people who harass me based on lies, they themselves being people that are having many many relationships with many other people.

Same here, I just did not realize it at first because for years and years I was so ill with PTSD I barely survived. I did not notice the jealous vile women who tried to tear me down to their standards. I did not realize that management was only concerned about profit. I was made out to be a liar, to be the one that carried all guilt. The stalker went on with his life. I have debilitating PTSD and have completely lived alone for 12 years after the stalking. This has not stopped bystanders to force nasty strangers into my way who sexually harass me every day at work. It has not stopped them threatening my well being, where I live they tried to set fire, they try to hit my car in traffic, corrupt officials are even involved.

Hugging and kissing forehead randomly is completely inappropriate, also trying to be physically too close and touching ur shoulders is unacceptable too, talking about women body- sexual harassment but you talking about him trying to get you know about ur hobbies, your interests, your relationship status is definitely not sexual harassment unless he did it repeatedly after u told him not to do it. If that’s the case then no man can talk to any women or even show interest towards in a genuine way. In ur case it was obvious he crossed limits but complementing women beautiful or trying to get to know her or asking out is not sexual harassment huh!!

So let me get this straight, your up to the 6th red flag..and yet you still accept him on facebook only for him to go ahead and like your photos? Seems as though you were inviting that sort of behaviour by accepting his request. You keep mentioning "i didnt know any better", however seems like you know exactly whats transpiring and your up to the 6th red flag however your still pursuing it. Abit unsure what to believe here?
