You couldn't be more right! Not just the risk to Scoots, but every time you change planes, your luggage has to be changed also. And if you have to wait for your connecting plane to arrive, your luggage has to be put aside till the plane gets there. Just wait, if they like to stretch their legs, they will have a lot of stretching, while they are waiting around to find out what part of the planet their luggage ended up at, when it was put on the wrong flight! The only way I would do that if I didn't have to, would be if I was getting posession of my luggage while waiting, and then check in my baggage for next flight, just before boarding. You are such a wise young lady.

Agreed 💯! Direct flights are so much easier and you don’t have to worry about missed connections. When you’re disabled and move slowly anyway, it’s so hard to get to what seems like 90 miles away to the next gate. Direct flights please!

Direct flights are way better because you only have to worry about getting to one gate and on one plane and like you said you'll have more stress worrying about accidentally missing your next plane, having delays and etc. It's just easier to get on one plane to your destination and have less stress ❤

I totally agree with you. Connecting flights are stressful. I do travel with a scooter now. However I just request a wheelchair and check my scooter. I bring my canes with me just in case.

I’m OK with connections. Connections make the the flight cheaper but the he downside is they also tend to make the flying time longer. Because my legs are a little on the long side I need to get up and stretch every soften. As I get older my, every so often is becoming more and more often.

When traveling to Europe we prefer to have connecting flights and at least a two hour layover when going to the hubs as many different things can happen. Plus, from America to Germany is pretty long where I’m from, so we try to go from somewhere like Newark as it’s only 8 hours instead of the possible 14-18 (please note I have no clue exactly how long it really is, I don’t want to bother looking it up right now either-)

A direct flight is the way to go. Get on, get off, you’re there!! This is coming to you by way of a retired corporate pilot. In all my years of flying we just wanted to get wherever it is we were headed. The only reason for stopping would have been to take on fuel if the trip was too long and we couldn’t make it. Layovers are just asking for problems. So I agree with you 100%

Someone with Cerebral Palsy as well ( Distonic Hemiplegia) I prefer direct flights as well. Also some flights depending on who you fly with don't have drawbridges to get on or off. Carriage luggage downstairs for me is tricky even with a backpack. If there's a drawbridge on and off the plane, no problem but cheaper airlines have very big accessibility drawbacks.

There is a difference in terminology regarding flights. A non stop flight means point a to point b no stops. A direct flight means you change planes in between where you boarded and where you are headed. I try to book non stop flights it just depends on where I am headed.

Direct is better, but because of where I live it usually isn't an option. If you do have to have a layover, do a little bit of research on the airport. Most, you can get away with a one hour stop, but some, like Istanbul (world's largest airport under one roof), the arrival and departure gates are REALLY far apart and it's known to be a one hour walk, assuming you don't make any mistakes. If you have special needs such as mobility, a staff member will escort you through a shortcut, but a three hour layover is ideal just to reduce stress.

I do prefer direct. I have to use a walker (MS) and on one flight with one change, my walker was completely destroyed. Fortunately I was able to use an airport wheelchair to leave. I had to buy a new walker for my stay and prayed it made the trip home, in one piece. The airlines took several months to reimburse me for the damaged walker😞.
