Financial abuse from family is difficult. From mine, I was forced to work two jobs at 16 because my mom refused to work which meant the account also had to be joint. Then later she got a job just in time to spoil my brother, while purposely stealing from me and sabotaging my job opportunities so I'd make enough to pay her, but not enough to move out on my own. She also tried her best to keep my exposure to media and other people limited while feeding me stuff like it was my responsibility as the oldest male ( I had an older sister) and that I owed it to her because she kept the foster care and my dad from abusing me/sa'ing me when that's not true, but she used to tell me as a kid about all the grapes and murders foster kids go through. Btw I am her biological son, so this was just a control tactic. In the end, I chose to be homeless to get away from her. Still years later I feel so stupid for not having seen it for what it was.

A lot of these stories are not American. If an American family had told the oldest son he had to pay for the younger son's wedding you know what the older son would have told them.

A lot of things like this can end up in court. Even if there's no law technically broken, I've seen stories of people in situations similar to this winning civil suits. It's pretty much understood that if your Paying for someone's wedding that you'll be attending, especially family. There's most definitely some places in the US where you could bring a civil case for this

The formality of a wedding is the witnesses, who acknowledge the couple being wed to each other. So if OP is not allowed to attend, his brother is still "single" in his eyes. The first muder in "recorded human history" was done by a brother, who was angry and jealous at his "golden bro"... (and the Bible still calls him the bad boy) If they can't afford the wedding, they should not get married. Poor Lily, who probably does not know, she fell in love with a gold digger. Before the truth could be told at the ceremony, just cancel the person who could tell... Stealing EVERY Cent from your sibling's account is quite low - there are costs to cover, how should OP handle them, if there is nothing left???
@danemeyer008Күн бұрын
The reason these stories are losing popularity is because they're all too similar. One brother/sister exploited financially and or used as a Fixer. A younger sibling/ step brother who is ghe favorite and or golden child. The family is completely dependent on the protagonist but treats him/her like they're disposable. The protagonist is always neglected and exploited and its framed as a duty. Also we constantly hear family is important while the family happily usses and discards the protag. In the end the protagonist does something spitegul to avenge years of neglect and teaches their family a lesson. Of course everything goes right all the time and the protagonist wins at the end.
