something i wanna yap about while i have the chance i started working on war on september 29, but it took a long time because i felt i didn't understand sisyphus' character and would just make him insult V1, not conveying the fear he inspires whatsoever i knew i wanted the beatdown at 1:53 to be startling and morale-destroying, especially for players mid-assbeating aside from making teto's voice booming and distorted, here's what i did for lyrics off the bat, he compares you to the horsemen of the apocalypse (in diminutive, too) and then almost all the rest of his lines are him *sincerely* challenging you to kill him the player has been on a rampage for the entire game up until now, and even _that's_ a mould they know they don't fit in (ESPECIALLY with "bring me the war I craved for so long" implying a revolt against HEAVEN wasn't satisfying enough for him) it's been about 2 minutes since the fight started, and generally if you've fought him that long, he's probably killed you once or twice for him to have such high expectations for you goes hand-in-hand with this boss fight being a vertical difficulty spike the only insult to V1 in the entirety of the cover is calling it a "little" horseman, in fact, he compliments you quite a few times i feel like a powerful enemy daring you to be better in a belittling, sadistic way is ten times more scary than one-off insults

I personally love Sisyphus as a character, the fact he doesn’t fight you for revenge or freedom and simply does it cause it’s fun for him is amazing. Sisyphus knows that he was gonna lose from the very start, and fights for the fun of it. Unlike Minos where each of his attack voice lines are threats like “thy end is now” and “crush” so on and so forth Sisyphus’s voice lines seem more like a warning. He tells you to “begone” because that’s the only way to dodge the attack and he tells you “this will hurt” because it will. This is especially show when you drop him to half health when he says “yes that’s it” his trying his hardest to motivate you to keep fighting. He *wants* you to win he couldn’t care less about being free. Sisyphus doesn’t try to intimidate the player at all he just *is* intimidating. Again unlike Minos where he threatens Gabriel the one who killed him sisyphus knows Gabriel doesn’t care about him and knows that most have forgotten about him. The threats he makes towards heaven seem like their more from the time of the insurrection in greed and as a way to motivate the player to try their hardest beat him by marking himself as a threat. Minos fights with the purpose of killing you but Sisyphus fights with the purpose of being beaten. Where Minos puts you down for dying by calling you “weak” Sisyphus tries to motivate you and tells you to keep on trying no matter how many times you die to him This cover does a great job of encapsulating that character. Nice job mate (My grammar sucks don’t mind that)

Minos says weak in phase 2, while useless is what he says when you respawn, i believe it’s because Minos knows that you can just keep respawning until you kill him, so essentially it’s useless for Minos to keep fighting. as for the weak thing idk

wait i have a theory Look back to the second Duel WIP. Right after the lyrics "Right here and now, here's our 1v1, V2!" They cut to the pyramid chase. At the end of this, with these lyrics, as seen below: "Result extrapolated, printing finisher You Call that a Duel?" This hints Miku killed Teto.. If Teto has the will, power, and status, which I think she does have.. this allowed her to turn into a Prime Soul.

Something that I may be looking too deep into, but that I liked nonetheless, is how, compared to ORDER Lyrics, WAR is has much more drawn out and elongated lines, almost like how Sisyphus himself enjoys the struggle, in comparison to ORDER's much more calibrated and precise lyrics that are much faster, reflecting how Minos's objective is that to help others instead of indulging in his own desires.
