I totally agree with you, I have been washing my hair everyday since 2012, lots of influencers told that washing everyday is dangerous for hair but I never listened to anyone and I am satisfied with my hair.

When I was washing my hair once a week it started getting a lot thinner, itchy and flaky. We also have hard water. I’m going to try this. Thanks! ❤

it sounds like your scalp wasn’t getting the cleanse it needed, especially with hard water. washing more often should definitely help with the itchiness and flakiness. you might also want to try a clarifying shampoo once a week to help with the hard water buildup. let me know how it works for you.

I'm a guy with super long hair who works outdoors. Every video online will tell you not to wash more than twice a week but I felt the same as you, my scalp felt greasy and dirty and my ends would be dry no matter how much conditioner lol. Every other day works good for me

I wash my hair every other day too. It gets drier the less I wash and take care of it. After washing and conditioning it is so soft and moisturized. But it gets dry the day after. And more dry a day later.

It sounds like you wash your hair too much. Your hair needs its natural oils. You just have to get the oil to the ends, and you can do that with a boar bristle brush. You can also add a drop or two of jojoba oil, because that's as close to our natural oils as we can get. Just a drop or two. A little goes a long way!

The Mythic oil from L'oréal was such a hair saver to me. I bought it like 3 years ago and I still did not finish the same bottle. I use only two pumps before hair drying and my hair are SOOOOOO soft, silky and so manageable. This oil is quite costy tho but it lasts you at least a year for a 100 ml bottle. Highly recommend it if you want a powerful oil that'll do a lot for your hair as hydrating, protecting and correcting your hair texture if it's very damaged.

This is incredibly good for people who gym a lot/workout a lot or just sweat a lot too,so a win is a win!! I'm just mad that i didn't dare try doing this even though I've been noticing how damaged my hair looks after only Washing it once a week. Now i understand why my hair used to look and feel better back then when i was washing it everyday when i came from school all sweaty😭😭😭

I definitely can't afford to buy all these products or wash my hair everyday. But I have been avoiding the ingredient sulfate on my hair, because it's terrible for it. The only product I'm interested in is the coconut oil. But I am thinking of rinsing my hair everyday with using some rice water and apple cider vinegar in between that during the week. I will definitely using these techniques putting products in my hair

My hair has been thriving since washing it more. I tried to be a straight haired natural who wears a silk press & stretch my wash days to every 2 weeks but my scalp & ends hated me. I went back to washing my hair every 5 days & the difference in my hair health has been great. I would even say that I've stunted my growth by delaying wash days. I'm going to bump it up to every 7 days from every 5 days, bc that's what I was before but scalp care is so important when it comes to growing & maintaining length. I do still prefer my hair in a straight stretched look but I invested in a GHD Rise hot brush & blowdryer so I can have my cake & eat it to when it comes to straight hair. I feel like using a lower setting of heat once a week vs using higher heat every 2 weeks is better for my scalp & ends long term. Also GHD hot tools are formulated to not go over 365 degrees which is where the hair can become damaged. So yea we live & we learn. Love that you can grow with your audience!

My problem is that, since I still live with my parents, they refuse to buy those products because they think it's too "chemical," but honestly, those "chemical" shampoos and conditioners really helped with my hair not the "natural" products that do absolutely nothing. 😭🙄😤

@BRuvSt0AsT when i was younger my parents refused to buy me hair products as well because of 'chemicals'. For me, all i wanted was a leave in conditioner but because my parents wouldn't let me buy one, i made my own by putting my actual hair conditioner in a spray bottle with water and i would spray that in my hair after a shower and also in the mornings to refresh my curls. Let me tell you something - at this time i was 14-15 and all i was using was shampoo, conditioner, and DIY leave in conditioner and i had THE healthiest hair OF MY LIFE. No hair masks, no oils, no treatments, no olaplex, NOTHING. Now, i'm stressed, i've got vitamin deficiencies so my hair has thinned out a lot. I also do use hair masks and oils and stuff but i don't think they are necessary - take it from me im speaking from experience. Anyway hope this helps :)

Apple cider vinegar. Dilute so it just barely changes the water color. Rinse through your hair, and after 30 seconds rinse it out. I use cool but not cold water. I do this at the end of my wash every couple of weeks. It helps close the cuticles and balance the ph.

@@otherstuff5750 your scalp is always producing oil. Some scalps produce oil quicker. And no, you cannot train your scalp to produce oil at a slower rate. So no she is not drying her scalp out. Also, if you think it's best to wash every 3-5 days then im assuming you're oblivious to the dirty scalp smell. This smell is strong and you might think no one around you can smell it when you walk past someone but trust me, it can be smelt by everyone around you and its disgusting. You wouldn't go 3-5 days without washing your oily face so why go that long without washing your oily scalp.
