I've been using the 15x70 SkyMaster binoculars since 2015. I love them. I lay on a zero gravity chair and hold the eyecups against my eye sockets and scan the sky. I started using these when my bilateral hip arthritis made it too difficult for me to use my telsecopes. I have since had to hip replacement surgeries, but I still use the 15x70 SkyMaster as my favorite astronomical instrument.

I have a set of Celstron 'Cometron' 15x70 binoculars that were obtained about a year before my 1st telescope. They served me very well in confirming my interest in astronomy and before I obtained my first actual telescope. I ABSOLUTELY agree that having a way to stablize the binoculars is of paramount importance and used a tripod and binocular adapter for this. Alternately, tactics like leaning up against a wall/post/tree can help as can sitting down in a chair with a back; I've even seen a kiddy pool be used as something lie in and get neck support. My binoculars continue to be useful to view larger objects like the Pleiades, Hyades, and Double Cluster. My 15x70s allowed me to see Jupiter and its Galliean Moons and to make out (but not quite separate) Saturn and its rings. Binoculars continue to be an excellent companion to my 6-inch SCT.

Binoculars are superior tools for viewing the exact objects you mention. They are the exact objects I go out to view any clear night. I have the 15X70's as well. They're just on the border of what I can handhold. I can do a full scan of the sky and do a quick view of anywhere from 4-8 DSO's within 5 minutes. Try doing that with a telescope haha

Another wonderful and detailed video Bogdan! I also live in a bortle 4 and love viewing through good binoculars! I use SkySafari pro app as I do with my scopes to display the field of view I’m seeing so I can study ahead for the evening. The binoculars I’m using are with a parallelogram/ tripod setup and I’ve got to say it’s really so nice to kick back and view that way !

Hi Bogdan, I have been watching your videos but it is until now that i write a comment. The Skymaster is a very underrated binocular. I was lucky to get one used that survived the travel from Berlin to Magdeburg with spot collimation. It was a revelation to me due to its versatility, lightweight and quality. Later on, i discovered that it was working around 60 mm instead of tne advertised 70 mm. In any case I loved it and enjoyed during many nights. Ultimately i sold it and got a better 15x70, but i missed the center focus. Overall, it is a nice binocular if you get one properly collimated. Thanks for your videos! Greetings from Denmark!

Thanks for your review, Bogdan. I bought one of these last Christmas (2022) *before* I saw your review. I really like them, and they have helped me a lot locating comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) under difficult seeing conditions. I have fairy large pupils, in general and for my age, so I wished there was a 14 x 100 or similar. So *for me,* extended objects (not stars) are not really much brighter with this one than with my cheap 10 x 50. However, the image quality / sharpness is outstanding, and I can't detect significant chromatic issues for astronomical purposes. Two minor downsides: the carrying case is too narrow. I have fairly widely-spaced eyes, but need to close the binoculars to almost zero spacing to fit the case. That means that I have to go through the process of adjusting to my eye-spacing every time I use them. Same thing for the single eye-piece cover. Just give me two separate ones!

I have a pair of 7x50 Celestron inexpensive binoculars to take with me in Bortle 4 skies to help find faint constellations. A friend at my club recommended it to me, just a glance at my Planisphere and then look and find what I am looking for. They are also good for Bortle 2 sky where view can be a little overwhelming. The 7x makes the shakiness issue a whole lot less and even then with the 50mm aperture it still benefits from resting my elbows on car.

@Mountain Fisher The 7x50 are definitely easier to use than the 15x70 since they are so much lighter. I found that the weight of the binoculars is the most critical aspect when using them handheld. Past a certain weigh one really needs a tripod.

I have been using Skymaster 15x70 binos for the last 10 years. As I only use them for a quick scan round the sky or looking at any brighter comets that may be around I'm happy enough with the performance especially considering the relatively low price I paid. None of the tripod adapters I have tried, metal or plastic affords enough stability. I made my own which supports the binos at the objective and prism end which was much more steady. I would say that these are a better bet than some of the cheaper entry level scopes available but obviously if you have the money a decent scope will win hands down especially if you want to see planetry detail.

In response to Trident’s comment: My experiences with my 15x70s are in line with Bogdan’s, specifically this binocular is superb, and not just “for the money”, superb Period. Resolution, sharpness, contrast are all excellent. I also own Celestron 25x70 and 12x70 and Overwork 20x80. All are a joy to use, but the 15x70 is the one I use the most. Trident has an alternative and negative opinion of this instrument. Possibly he received a bad sample, as have a few others based on what I read on the forums. Trident is, of course, is free to post his impressions. But he is totally Out of Line to suggest that, because his 15x70 experience differs from Bogdan’s that Bogdan is some kind of paid shill for Celestron. Uncalled for and just plain wrong.

I have these and love them. I recommend putting mighty putty on the plastic tripod adapters empty spaces. it pretty much fixes the vibration when on a tripod.

@TON 618 It depends on whether you plan on using a tripod for observing the sky. If you are mainly going to use it handheld then get the smaller one. For the 15x70 you will need a tripod if you want to observe for longer than several seconds at a time. A compact 12x42 might als be a good idea.

@TON 618, I recently bought an Orion Mini Giant 9x63, with the optional tripod adapter. As a comparison to your options, I find mounting of the binoculars to a regular photographic tripod to be essential for steady viewing even with only 9x magnification, otherwise the view shakes too much to be enjoyable. The Orion tripod adapter I bought is not fancy looking but is made of aluminium and is very sturdy. I’m guessing this adapter uses standard screw threads that could allow a user of another brand of binoculars to upgrade from a plastic tripod adapter. These binos capture so much light that the Galilean moons of Jupiter are very bright and easy to see, but I’ve found looking at the Moon to be painfully bright! I can’t say that I can see the rings of Saturn, but I “think” Saturn looks a little bit oval, rather than round like Jupiter. I’m looking forward to trying to view some fainter objects if this persistent rain and overcast skies will go away!

@TON 618, Seeing the large moons of Jupiter with the 9x63 binos is very easy, particularly with tripod mounting and careful focusing. Jupiter just appears like a very big bright white star with no surface detail or shadows, but the big four moons show up as small but clearly visible small white “dots” in a roughly straight line through the middle of Jupiter, and the arrangement of these moons wrt Jupiter changes every night. On my first night, there were two moons on each side of Jupiter, then on a different night, there was one moon on one side and three on the other side of Jupiter. These moons are unmistakable and they gave me my first “wow” moment after I purchased these binos. This is not BS.

Thanks for a really clear and concise review of these binoculars… I admit that yesterday, and after looking at review after review after review, I was really confused as to what size/magnification I should aim to purchase. I eventually went for the Celestron 20 x 80 … I noticed in the shop that the tripod mount is already attached to a steel bar located from front to back and central of the binoculars, I also purchased a tripod too. I hope the magnification will be OK too. I haven’t used them yet but hoping for some fair results 🌟 🌙 🪐 … lol … I know I will be limited but looking forward to the next clear sky, although light pollution is bad where I live so will be limited. I bought a celeston 15x 70 mm new model and I...did'nt know it would be so efficient ! 1000 stars ( up to mg5) in colour. M33 clearly visible and in a rich star field. Same for many other Messier objects. the Pleiades, they are so placed that you can count them and compare the sky quality from night to night !

Hi! it is true that these things are not that easy to hold still. I found out that they become a lot more easy to control when I hold them with my hands as far as possible on the "tubes". This way, the weight is balanced more between my eyes/head and hands. They are kind of braced! You have a great channel! Thank you!

Just jumping in here with my comment if you guys don't mind I use a spotting scope tripod they're no more than a foot high you can actually adjust up and down makes it more comfortable when you're looking straight up I currently have the Celestron I forgot what size but they're pretty darn big and heavy but yes a spotting scope tripod will help you the best I think

I have this set, and their big brother, the 25 X 100s. I mount them on an Orion Monster Parallelogram. I only occasionally dabble in binary viewing, and wasnt expecting much from these, but I was pleasantly surprised at their eye relief and performance, and rediscovered the fun of bino-viewing.

@@ccarlley I ripped the rubber coating off mine behind the eyepieces so I could adjust the prism screws. I braced them against a pole and focused on a road sign 1/4 mile away and turned the screws behind the right eyepiece until the images in both barrels were lined up. They`re perfect now.

@@ccarlley I have the Skymaster 15x70. They`re incredible once you get them adjusted. I was afraid to do it but got a bottle of whiskey and just ripped the rubber completely off. Luckily I had the right screwdriver size and was surprised how quickly I had them working great. They need a slight adjustment from time to time. I`m really happy with their quality. Mine haven`t suffered any bad effects from being mutilated so far but I did seal a mystery hole that became exposed with a tiny drop of hot glue.

@@BogdanDamian I got them today and they were so badly aligned that they were completely unusable. I cranked down on the 2 adjustment screws and even though I didn't know what I was doing, I managed to get the binoculars into alignment.

@Full tilt Thank you! I chose the Skymaster 15x70 based on availability in my region and specs. Because I wasn't sure what to expect from a pair of binoculars I set my spending limit to 100 bucks and for this money this Skymaster seemed like a decent choice. With the pro version costing more than double, I would say that the extra benefits aren't enough to make it worth it over the standard one. Only maybe if you value a waterproof housing very much. The increase in optical quality due to the extra coatings should be negligible. The standard one plus a better tripod adapter and a tripod will cost less and in my opinion offer a better astro viewing experience. Hope this helps.

@@BogdanDamian Thanks for taking the time reply in such detail! Good idea to set a spending limit and sticking to it. It's a very wise thing to do as it's easy to get carried away when it comes to optical instruments, often with a very tiny improvement between the 'cheap' option and the hugely expensive. A lower cost binocular makes good sense as prehaps one would be a bit less precious about it compared to a more expensive one. This likely helps makes them a great 'grab and go' instrument. I have an old pair of binoculars that I don't really look after. They live on a shelf near my front door or get thrown in the car when I go camping. Because it's so easy to use them they get used far more than my carefully packed telescope. Thanks again for the great review, I look forward to more!

Looking to get these for viewing the moon. Also for holidays to view landscapes, birds, planes, ships at sea etc. for viewing the night sky and viewing upwards surely having a tripod will not work as the viewing angle is looking upwards rather than a horizontal position?

Hello. I inherited a pair of these and new to binoculars and have a few questions if you would be so kind to answer. FYI-I did not get the accompaniments or the instructions with this gift. 1- what can I use to clean the outside of the binoculars as maybe the last person to use them had something on their hands and made them a bit sticky when holding. 2- what is the best thing to use to clean the lens? Just a microfiber cloth or would I include lens cleaner (as for glasses) too? 3-would it be best to use these with my glasses on or off?

@Nicole C Hi Nicole! To clean the outside of the binoculars I would use a damp cloth that I previously had it in soapy water. The housing of the binoculars is water resistant so it can handle a bit of moisture. Lens cleaner for the lenses is a good way to go. Just make sure not to spray too much liquid on the lenses as it might seep inside and stain the lenses from the inside as it evaporates. It would be better to spray it on a microfiber cloth first and then apply the cloth to the lenses. Whether to use the binoculars with or without glasses on is up to your preference. These binoculars offer enough eye relief so that you should be able to leave the glasses on. I personally like taking my glasses off while observing. This way I can get nice an close so that the eye guard shields my eyes from stray light that might come from the sides. Just make sure you adjust the diopter (right cup) first while looking only with your right eye through. This way you make sure that the image is sharp for both eyes. With cheap instruments like these, you must expect some chroma. You must be realistic in your expectations. Some sort of mount is a 'must'. Plastic adapter.... MEH! Buy/make a better one.

Nice video! I just bought a pair of skymaster pro 15x70. Left eye is nice and crisp after adjusting the focus with the right eye cover on. When I replace the left eye cover and adjust the right eye I see milky semicircular regardless off how much I adjust the diaplole. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

@skoal022 Thank you! From your description there seems to be something wrong with the lenses. Maybe some glue/fluid got in between the different lenses and caused stains. Or there is something wrong with the lens coating. You should be able to see a crystal clear image with both eyes. Seeing that your binoculars are new, I would just exchange them with another pair. I was looking into a solid binocular to purchase next month, as I want to look up closer at the moon and catch some planets and whatever else there might be when I’m out and about in my car. I’m inexperienced, but I like watching the sky. So I stumbled on those Celestron sky master pro’s. Seem to be good value for the price. I want to get closer to what I’m seeing, without getting into telescopes just yet. So I am looking for either the 15x70 or 20x80. I do have a tripod, but I also want to take a few pictures with my smartphone. How much difference is there between 15 and 20 x? I’m just torn between the sizes of those and how much extra I get from a 20x over a 15x.

@Nermin Okanovic Starting off with a pair of binoculars is definitely the right way to go. Between the two models you listed, I would go with the 15x70 simply because it's much more manageable (weight and size) and the difference between 15x and 20x magnification isn't that big. The most important aspect is that the item you are getting is as easy to use as possible. With a bigger pair of binoculars the views might improve a bit, but if you won't use it that often because it's heavy and bulky, then the improvement doesn't really matter. For either one of them, you'll need a metal tripod adapter in order to eliminate vibrations. There are also Smartphone adapters for the Celestron binoculars to purchase separately. Planetary observations won't really be possible because the magnification is too weak even on the 20x80. For viewing the moon and stars, both are great. If you are interested in taking pictures with you phone through the binoculars, then you might want to check out the 12x42 from Adasion (amzn.to/3qOqVBO) as well. I'm in the process of reviewing them and without to give too much away, I believe they are pretty good beginner binoculars. They also include a smartphone adaptor. The review will probably be out next month. Hope this helps.

Thank you for review. I was expected more about watching possibility of this bino. For example to tell us what did saw from DSO? For example with my BPC 20x60 i can see Dumbell nebula, but with some vintage BOB optik 15x80 i can't see it. Also, with 20x60 I see much better M81&M82 than with 15x80. @Jokssa84 Hi and thanks for your feedback! For this review I observed the brighter DSOs such as M42, M31 and the Pleiades. Both M42 and the Pleiades were clearly visible and with a bit of details, especially in M42. M31 although visible, it was just a smudge. I believe its because of a combination of less than perfect seeing conditions and the small aperture of the binoculars. The starts inside these DSOs were sharp points of lights, which I enjoyed very much. I hope this helps.

I have those , i was able to get better images then high priced telescopes , they are kind of crazy , but i feel they are just for fun , not really anything u can compere to a proper telescope , but yeah they are amazing , only backdraw is they wont sit still on any mount , it will be shaky shaky

@williamberne If you own a tripod and can keep the binoculars steady, than the 25x70 might give you some better views of DSOs. I personalty would go for the 15x70 as the difference between these two isn't really that big and the lower magnification will allow for easier roaming around the night sky.

@Tomáš Chmela I wouldn't recommend the 25x100 binoculars as a travelscope. They are too heavy (4kg) to be used handheld, which means that you will need a good tripod to take with you everytime, which increases the overall weight even further. If you travel by car/train then this might be ok, but for flying it might be too much for cabin luggage limits. I would rather get a small Mak or SCT (4") for that money. If we take the traveling use case out of the equation, then a 25x100 might be worth it, but only in combination with a good mount with a stable adapter.

If you happen to still be making a purchase decision a year later... I personally would not recommend these larger binos for planetary viewing. The views will not be appreciably better than say a 10x50 which is way more portable. You really need something closer to 75x to see the rings of Saturn or the clouds/red spot on Jupiter.

@drums911 Im afraid not since the focusing mechanism is located right in the middle. You would lose at least that. A spotting scope or a monocular might make more sense. They are basically half of a bino and the spotting scope even features a zoom eyepiece. amzn.to/44xGZKz

I have an 8" dobsonian and 4.5EQ telescopes. I also have an old pair of 7x50 marine binoculars. Binocular viewing is complimentary to the telescopes, but it no longer focuses one eye very well. My wife wants to get me this pair of 15x70, and I'm considering the SkyMaster 12x60 with wider field of view. I'm going to put either on a tripod with metal adapter. What is your opinion on choices? I get that these are higher power than the 12x, but the wider FOV might be worth considering. Thanks in advance for any input, and nice video.

@petset77 The difference between 12x and 15x is visually not that big. Given that you already have a telescope well capable of higher magnifications, I would go with the 12x60 binoculars. The wider fov should come in handy for broad views of the night sky.

Well I was disappointed the 25 x 70 were not any better at looking at buildings 1/2 of a mile away. I like the view with the Celestron 15 x 70 better. The 15 x70 would focus easier and just had a better view to me. Building did not look larger in the 25 x 70 than the 15 x 70 did. But I will use the 25 x 70 for viewing the night sky. I mount it on a very sturdy tripod.

What I,ve already seen in my 15x70 mm bino, M22, M31, M44, M 45, double Perseus cluster, dozens of open clusters such as M35/36/37/38. Globular clusters in ophiuchus (!). Nebulae in Sagittarius and galaxies M51, M33, M 81/82, M101, etc... Real feeling of deep sky , good handling, not too heavy. Large field permitting ...star counting !! Not yet seen the Moon !

I have Meade 25x70, very similar. Can't beat them for the price. I've used the Celestron too, a friend has a pair. I can't tell the difference between the two. There's an awful lot to see in the sky with these.

Hia Bogdan again , just something you might find interesting , I bought a pair of Delta Extreme ED 7x 50 binos just by chance , wow, what a fantastic bono they are, I discovered they are a copy of the brilliant Fujinon Fmrt series, but a lot cheaper, they are chunky and heavy but you can hold them and the 10 x50 but not the 70 mm ones, I prefer to use a tripod, I was so impressed by them I bought the set , 7x50, 10x50, 10.5x 70 and the 15 x70 , I think a Polish firm produce them. Honestly, they are brilliant. Have fun , Kev.

One more thing, I've sent for a 2inch 45 degree erect image diagonal by Ostara it's dielectric coated whatever that means it's coming tomorra it cost me with postage £68. @Kevin Byrne The 45° mirror diagonal from Ostera looks pretty decent. It should offer you some great views of the night sky. The dielectric part only means that the mirror has a special coating applied to it, which is much harder than normal mirror coatings and is able to boost reflectivity up to 99%, which is great. Let me know how you like the mirror diagonal once you have tested it.

Unfortunately, there is lot's of other manufacturers' junk comments in this post. So, as always, please be careful how to interpret. After using these a bit more, I agree with Bogdan that the amount of chromatic aberration is more than I expected - but it only stands out under high light conditions. Of course these are heavy by design - but still manageable for short stints or much better, as suggested, on tripods. By the way, my tripod connector was not plastic, but metal (I assume, Aluminum).

@nikandbdog Congrats on your new bino! The tripod isn't as critical as the tripod adapter. Sadly the one included with the bino is very wobbly. Get a decent one made out of metal like this one amzn.to/3D4XSRD or this one amzn.to/3euPGAb As for the tripod, get one that is compact and light enough and features a fluid head for smooth navigation. @Douglas Escamilha Hi Douglas! It depends on what you want to do. If you like astrophotography, then get a tele lens for your camera. If you however want to try out visual observations, then get the bino. Keep in mind that with the naked eye you won't see as much as the camera does. It's sensor is more sensitive than our eyes and can show more details on a picture. The skymaster has a magnification of 15x. To calculate the magnification of a camera lens you need to divide the highest to the lowest focal length value. So a lens with a focal length range of 20-100mm will provide a zoom of max 5x. Hope this helps.

Yes I want to mainly just do observations, bino is my first choice, but I was thinking about the lens, as I can take the photo too. But considering money investment, even I buy an Tele 100~400mm lens, that is sooo more expensive then a Skymaster bino 15x70, I will still be able to see further in kilometers with the bino, right? ( based in the prices here in Brazil )

Since you are wearing glasses, how did the eyecups work for you.? I have had to flip them under or down to get my eyes close enough for a 'good' view.

@rollandford8790 I had to fold the eye guards in as well, but after a while I still ended up taking my glasses off every time I used the binoculars. Then the eye guards stayed folded out. For me it was more comfortable this way.

If you have a 102mm, 660mm FL refractor, it might make more sense to spend the money on an eyepiece to achieve minimum magnification. You'll get about 15x magnification, with about twice the aperture.

Hia Bogdan, just something I remembered, the Delta Extreme ED 7x 50 binos I bought are reviewed on Optics Trade on KZbin, the girl who reviews them compared them with the Fujinon 7x 50 , that's where I first saw them, I had the good fortune of looking through a pair of Fujinon 7 x50's when I lived in Australia a few years ago, I couldn't believe my eyes !! @@BogdanDamian Hia Bogdan, I've tried the Ostara 2 inch prism diagonal and the 2inch 32mm extra wide field of view eyepiece and I tell you what mate it's fantastic, I've tried it during the day as a spotting scope and wow such a bright and wide view I love it. Hopefully tonight I might get a peak of the moon as it's been wet windy and cloudy every night here for ages. But I know I haven't got anything to compare it with however it looks great to me I'm very pleased with it. Thanks Kev.

View quality is pretty average compared to my Orion Scenix 7x50's, I find that the Skymaster 15x70's have less color saturation and more obvious edge blurring. I was hoping that the large optics would help them punch above their weight but actually in practice they're heavy, unstable and require careful adjustments to get reasonable views. And despite the magnification disadvantage, the Orions offer sharper detail and the focus adjustments are more forgiving. In Australia I had to pay twice as much for the Orions (thanks to the stifled import supply) but in the US they're only 25% more than the Skymasters. And even at double the price I thought the Orions were the better deal. At 25% difference it's a friggin no-brainer.

@@Jokssa84 Hi! Yes I'm really satisfied! Obviously is not the same like a telescope. The 20x80 are quite big and heavy, the 15x70 binoculars not so much. Perhaps if it were now, I would have chosen a 15x70 since for 1 cm less lens they are much smaller and less heavy. For these binoculars with a magnification of more than 10x, you absolutely need a tripod, a good tripod.

We’re going to Big Bend in a couple of weeks kzbin.infoUgkxSt0aBrzyS1nxONvwm1e0u7ZDFD_eypAO so I bought these to use during the hikes, didn’t want to miss anything. As you can see by the photos I tested the phone adapter by taking a phone of a power pole on the next block and you can see the results. It took a couple of minutes to line the phone camera up to the eye piece, there’s a bit of a learning curve, but once it was longed up it stayed in place without any issues. So far I’m impressed with the feel and the weight, the neck strap is wide and soft so it feels good on my neck. I look forward to using it with my friend and grandson in Big Bend!

as a reviewer of the astro-equipment , please consider devoting more time displaying the specifics of mounting on the tripod. Name thread dimensions, types of junctions between parts, to ease the search of substitution for the plastic adaptor. Otherwise one has to go elsewhere to find this info. Please also consider including still shots through the eyepiece to give the idea of the image quality. Otherwise was a good review, thanks.

@papashirt Hi! Thank you for your feedback. I will definitely take this into consideration for the next videos. Unfortunately including real images taken through the eyepiece is difficult as they won't even come close to what the eye sees in reality. If I use the camera with the lens attached and get really close to the eyepiece, then image will be very low quality - out of focus, under exposed and with few details in general. This won't be a accurate representation for the optical performance of the eyepiece. It's also not a constant proces to repeate for other eyepieces as I would be holding the camera by hand which isn't a stable stable solution.

@Walter-uy4or For a low power optical device, pretty good. The views of the Moon through these are great with lost of details. For observing any real details on Jupiter or Saturn the magnification is too low. You can see the 4 Galilean mons of Jupiter, but nothing more. Saturn will appear more like an elongated star. It's rings won't be clearly distinguishable.

Unless they made some major changes, and by the picture you show i dont think so, the 15x70 skymaster isn't waterproof nor nitrogen purged. Also note that while synta owns celestron, they dont make all celestron products, including binoculars and many of the eyepieces. The skymasters are made by Kunming who also make the barska, oberwerk, zhumell and others. I had the celestron 15x70 cavalry whixh was the waterproof version

@MtbAddict109 You can see Jupiter's 4 galilean moons as points of light, but can't see details like the great red spot. On Saturn the rings are not visible like in the pictures on the internet. Saturn looks more like a oval shaped big star. 15x is too low of a magnification to be able to see such details.

Big and heavy binoculars are not good at all because of weight and narrow fov. If binos are over 1kg, less than 5' afov and exit pupil above 5mm it's to skip and move to telescopes. Learned from using these larger celestron ones. The mount on the video it's only for terrestrial view, regardless of adaptor.

wrong, binoculars are VERY convenient!!....and 2 eyes are better than one........that's the entire point........ telescopes suck because they ALWAYS have stabilizer problems, and tracking planets is very annoying, everything keeps moving.....you have to spend Big $$$ for a decent telescope that doesn't fall off it's target, don't care what Anyone says. Binoculars are great for going out for 15 or 30 minutes......I don't have time to setup a telescope and sit around for 3 hours......

It's best to spend money on better quality than these IMO. Nikon, or a good Bushnell Legend pair of 10x42 roofs will have much better quality than these. I had about 4 pairs of these before and every one of them lost alignment due to loosening prisms over time.

The 25x100 Celestrons are also ok ONLY if you get a good pair. 90% of the Celestron Skymasters are total GARBAGE. lol. If you are referring to the 25x70's, they are a heaping pile of junk.

I bought mine used but like new. I really enjoy them and even though I own an out of control telescope collection (15ish scopes ending in a CPC Deluxe 11" Edge HD) I often look at things through my binos first. I've seen lots of stuff through them including the moon, certain galaxies, nebulosity and a nightly checking on Jupiter's moons (during planet season) to see if I wanted to get a scope on them. I'm in bortle 5 skies and have not regretted buying these binos for a second. Now the tripod I put them on is another story . . . waiting for it to settle after focusing (LOL. I just watched the last few minutes and I guess it could be the adapter).

@luispatricio5919 Hi! The 25x70 is a good pair of binoculars, but if you already have the 15x70, I don't think that it will be worth getting it. The differences are too small. 25x while more than double is still too low for you to see details on planets like Jupiter and Saturn. The FOV is however considerably narrower. It's basically a good lunar bino.
