Yep. He’s not like an Eddie Hall and Larry no offense to those guys but they dabble in different things for fun. If Brian is going to do it then he’s going to try to be the best. If he announced he was going to lose 200 lbs and become an ultra marathon runner I would believe him. He doesn’t play. He was training seriously for MMA prior to this and only stopped when they messed with his contract. He wants to compete.

While I'm EXTREMELY excited for Brian Shaw to get into arm wrestling, I REALLY think he should start with a few tournaments before jumping into super matches. I know he's insanely strong and just massive....i know he's got tons of potential..... But we still need to be realistic. Table IQ is real! It's not just about being strong or even strong in arm wrestling specific movements, it's about knowing how to put it all together. It's about knowing how to deal with changing situations during a match. imo that is best learned with tons and tons of table time. Practice is one thing, but when you have guy after guy attacking you in so many different ways trying to legitimately beat you, that's a unique thing that is extremely difficult to replicate. So yeah, he may destroy a lot of guys in tournaments, but he will learn from that and learn from any potential losses. I know super matches are where all of the eyes are turning to and that's where the money is at, but look at EVERY top level arm wrestler. They all started with tournaments. No matter where you're starting, you've gotta walk before you can run. I know Brian is no stranger to having pressure put on him (especially him putting it on himself), but i still think jumping into the deep end with when guys that are top 50 in the world isn't a good idea for a newbie. Brian is a smart strongman, and i hope he becomes a smart arm wrestler. Again, his potential is massive. Just yeah.....i hope he approaches realistically/intelligently in order to build himself in every way as much as possible. Just my opinion though..

I do agree with this practically to the T. Maybe I am wrong with what I’m about to say but i I think of somebody like Cleve Dean being compared to Bryan. No training and just a HUGE strong guy and wrecked everybody in his time. Now, I think of Bryan like that, huge, but more muscular, and not only is he just as much a genetic freak as Cleve but actually trained to a master level in strength sports. His grip is insane. I’m willing to bet if he put 225 on a curl bar, he’d be able to do it strict. If he isn’t quite there yet for the big dogs, I’d say give him a year. He has a base strength miles beyond what any arm wrestler had starting. Hell, he probably has a stronger grip and arms than most of them already now. Him training to move his wrist and arms in a few different directions is going to grow his table strength veeery fast. I’d say if he could have a sparing session with somebody like John Brzenk right now, he’d have a solid idea of what he needs to do.

Brian is an obsessively competitive man who would rather be in a gym then anywhere else on the planet. IDK if he'll ever topple the couple guys at the top, but he is already the strongest man in arm wrestling as far as just pure horsepower. His level of strength is just on another level. Im still hoping for Magnus Samuelsson to go up against Brian.. Brian will probably win, but its not a sure card, the fight would be nostalgic as well.. I love Eddie, its just been so many years since we last saw Samuelsson the great titan, who probably broke Nathan Jones arm.. Ryan Bowen would just be booring, no offence to Brian. But armwrestling is first of all a strenght sport. Easy win for Mr Shaw.

I strongly disagree! Brian's first match should be against Devon so that he can build up he's confidence and table IQ before facing powerhouses like Bowen.

I been following Brian about 4 years before i found arm wrestling, so when they both collided i was super stoked. Brian took strongman very serious, took the MMA very serious til the promotors backed out on him, so i had no doubt that he would take arm wrestling serious too. The only thing that worries me is for how long will he take it serious. Takes so long to get to elite level. If he can take it serious for a couple years at least then it's RIP everybody but Levan. If he takes it serious for 3 plus years its RIP even Levan lol

I think you are giving Devon a bit too much credit here. He won the superheavyweight belt before Levan competed at EvW. He also got that title shot against Ermes directly coming off a loss to Genadi. No-one else besides Devon would have even got that opportunity Devon only won 1 match against Prudnik to get the 115kg belt and made no defenses. Devon has not competed at 105kg yet. So yeah technically he has a chance to have held 3 different titles. But he would have done so with a lot of caveats.

Yeah he won't have held 3 belts simultaneously, I think it's debatable whether he even held 2 at the same time. It's not comparable to Brzenk doing to Zloty and dominating 3 weight classes at the same tournament.

Brian will instantly become the strongest arm wrestler once his first match occurs. Not saying he will dominate right away. Just talking strength

People who say he wont get there have no idea how strong Brian is and how tall he is. Hiss arms are like most people's legs. He trained for 20+ years and hass verry good cardio. Hiss tendons are strong aswell or you think training for 20+ years for strongman wont make them strong. Nobody can match him for pure strenght not even levan. The guy is 4x wsm and made podium many times more. He is verry smart aswell and picks up verry quick on what people are teaching him. I dont know if he will ever able to beat Levan tho. Levan is special in armwrestling surtenly for the last 5/8 years. Im surten tho thazt Brian is able to get into the top 5 maybe top 3 if he keeps training for it.

If Brian commits. He doesn't piss about. Even with MMA he did just that trained and sweated his balls off. Hiring a few top coaches an trainers. Until him and others were scammed. Obviously his long term channel followers know this stuff. Of course not everyone will.
